I really miss that flying tinderbox. Can anyone think of a game with similar flight mechanics?

Planetside 2 has flying vehicles but the control scheme is nothing like Dust's, it's frankly impossible to fly without crashing like a potato, you need not hours, not days, but WEEKS of flying practice...
Dust's flying mechanics were the simplest in my opinion, very easy to learn, I haven't met anything similar in other games.

The OP might also want to look at Star Citizen, PC only, but that is a step higher in flight difficulty than PS2 as well I'd say. |

Working with a potato pc currently. As soon I get my new setup I'll definitely check them out.

I miss it too, but i'd need the full package, the ship and the guy to challenge me.
Piloting an ADS was fun, but blasting enemies while fighting an assault forge gun was intense.

The Valkyrie in PS2 was added not long before Dust's shutdown and is eerily similar to the ADS. Similar shape, handles about the same.
Differences: -About the speed of the Incubus, no afterburner -No side turrets -Nosegun is controlled by passenger -4 rumble seats that can be fired from + repair tools can be used on the ship mid-flight (25% efficiency though). Works great with a stacked repair crew or some lock-on rockets from above -Not stupid fragile. But since it's not fast, good positioning is needed for escaping without too much damage
