L3.
That damn thing got glitchy after every couple of months of gameplay, when I pushed it forwards to sprint, it wouldn't have good contact and at a certain angle I'd end up stopping. I had to fackin' sprint sideways most of the time in Dust, it was horrible how this game put so much wear and tear on the left stick.
Good ol' Sony DS3's...

So the thing you hated most about DUST was that Sony hardware was not built strong enough to handle it?

I played countless rounds in Dust 514, BO1, MW3 and BO2. Still, I never had an issue with the sticks.

Early on I had constant overview map pop-ups mid fight as well as reload animation and knife swings randomly play out during gunfights. I screamed a lot. I can't tell you how many times I would be strafe-firing some other kat and then my map would just load up, with all the lag and stutter that came when loading the map. Later, I would sometimes laugh wondering what the other guy was thinking. "oh crap, a red! fire-strafe-fire! I'm almost dead! dude. he just stopped. why is he just standing there? huh. oh well." *shot to the head*
I replaced the controller, but I don't think it helped. I had a lot of weird issues then with my controllers. Not just in game. But I do remember several posts at one point about the map screen coming up, so who knows.

The 360 had an AMD GPU. And it was better than what the PS3 had

Along the lines of the L3 issue, there was an issue I had with knifing where I would hold a charge, and when I released the trigger, sometimes nothing happens.
This became very frustrating when I would wait behind a corner, and try to walk out and catch someone by surprise. It was more like "Surpise! Here is a free kill..."

OK, here is an actual gripe about the game design. I found it frustrating that if you interrupted a Hacking attempt and tried to shoot, nothing would happen!
This was because you could not shoot for about a second after you stopped Hacking. Now, I will accept that length of a pause before you can take an action after a hack, but the problem was that it usually took me 2.5 seconds to figure out that my weapon was not firing and why that was.
I would have been OK if there had been an animation of stopping hacking that filled the time, or if when I pulled the trigger the response from my weapon was simply delayed until the second was over before firing, rather than simply having my fire command canceled.
Anyway, I thought that was bad game design. It left people unsure of what was going on (no visual or auditory queue) and it effectively deactivated the weapon until the user thought to release the trigger and depress it a second time.

Things that got on my nerves on dust were
spent a long time leveling up a character to later lose its attribute after another hotfix.
nobody would drop a freaking uplink.
uplinks up high so that when you dropped you landed in the middle of all the enemies.
This one is not exclusive to dust. Shooting someone 100 time and basically doing little to no damage yet, they shoot you 2 times and you are dead
Scotty in general. He put you in an already started game if at all. Then he puts you on the loosing teamthat has the least amount of people in it then when someone joined scotty put them on the other team to add salt to injury.
Massdrivers. You could hidebehond a wall and they still did damage. Also plasma cannon.
The caldari got no respect until the very end and then they close the game.
God damn jumpers
Pretty much every blueberry who never helped
People leaving/abandoning the battle early
They put all 16 players composed of nyan sans, outer heavwns and what not on the other team but on tour team you only got your 2 friends and 4 blueberries fresh out of the academy. Oh and 2 of those left 2 minutes into the battle. Also known as protostomping.
Corps hoarding all the districts.
the damn lag especially on the gallente research facility. What were they researching? Lag? |
