I dont know about you guys n gals but that was like the best ever in game chat i ever used on any game ever.
I think it might have gotten ccp into hot water a few times with Sony, so i fear that we wont see such a thing in nova.

Yea, no other game had the options to voice up in so many ways as dust did!

What?!!! EvE Online has always had this chat feature! If you're talking FPSs, then yeah, Dust was the only one that had it, but I have no doubt anything like it from CCP (eg. Nova) will also have the same features. |

However, I do think that because this will be on PC, that it won't be as much of an issue to keep the system.
I thought it was cool how we could see EVE Pilots in the chat as well. It made for some interesting moments on Local chat.

Well....assuming you mean voice chat, consider this.
-EVE Online has an in-game chat.
-Nova will probably use a similar system.
-Most people in EVE use a 3rd party char client because well...the EVE one is not terrible good.
If you mean Text Chat...DUST chat was similar to EVE already so I imagine it would not change much.

Yeah i dont like the eve voice chat at all.
And i was meaning text chat, for corps and stuff like alliances, all that good channel stuff.

Yeah EVE chat was arguably better...a few more features but overall it's equivalent.
I wouldn't worry about it not being in Nova.

Will there be those awesome ghost bubbles nobody can block or mute too?! I just loved those. There's nothing quite like being forced to sit through an entire PC listening to Mclovin run his mouth and Zandor's super canadian ass politely asking him to go switch to PTT for the 100th time

That brought back some old memories.
PC chats were nucking futz.
Except for AE when i was with them before they kinda fell apart man were we ever organized.
But being a ringer was indeed crazy, peepz literally yelling in the mic x5. "mute" :)

I also loved the ingame chat channel, I also hope it will have the option to mix and match chat channels like EVE: Online does and be able to put them wherever you want.

We had comms level 100 back in PE. But O.P. often had to outsource quite a few ringers. We PC'd on a budget of about 12 players online at a time. Most of our ringers were top notch but ever so often we'd get stuck with some troll who just didnt give a ****. Like Southern Cowboy or Mclovin.
It was rather funny how theyd ruin the match for everyone and then ask for ISK to reimburse their gear.

This is part of the EvE link I'm always on about. To me, anything in New Eden should be able to communicate and interact with anything else in New Eden. |

No, most people use a 3rd party chat client because most people use a 3rd party chat client. It's kinda hard to change a culture that's so all-pervasive outside of EvE. There are a few that complain for one reason or another about the voice chat in EvE but generally speaking most I know find it quite acceptable. When half the people you play with insist on using a 3rd party chat client, it's kinda hard to go it alone. Sort of defeats the purpose really. :) |

Its not that it was special.
It simply had all the options you could ask for.
Never seen any other game have such a complex chat system even on PC well except eve.
I am sure there are more games out there, but what we needed was there in spades.
