I have already said this in some other forum topic but got no reply. Why can't CCP let us create our own servers like in bf4 or Counter Strike. Also do devs even read these forums anymore.
This was MY FAVORITE GAME.

I feel like the "servers" you're talking about are actually just "lobbies"/"rooms" on one server.

I believe Dust used PSN servers, Tranquillity and some costly servers spread around the world. If I'm not mistaken, that's why. It has never been a host-guests shooter, but a server based shooter that also relied on PSN and TQ.

How to make your own server: Step 1: (this step will be the hardest for most of you) Impregnate a female. Step 2: Name that ugly baby jeeves Step 3: wait 18 years and let nature take its course. With a name like jeeves he will most certainly become some sort of server.
Idgaf if you don't find this funny. There's no dust and I'm extremely bored right now. |

Why?
Because with a game like Dust or Nova, in which players largely want to be connected to the overall universe, they have to be careful about controlling their product.
It doesn't matter in a game like BF, because those games and universes aren't connected. What happens in one game, doesn't affect what will happen in the next game.
The notion of having private servers is so that people can control their own games and options. That does not work well in MMORPG/MOBA type situation.
And that begs the question why would you? Dust and Nova's selling points are that they are NOT BF or the like. People like Coke because its not Pepsi. If you want to learn a good business lesson, look what happened when Coke tried to be more like Pepsi (sweeter). It was a disaster people still talk about in business classes.
Products aren't successful when they try to be something they are not. They are successful when they do their own thing, and do it well.
What Nova wants to be is a game that is ultimately connected to the rest of the EVE universe, and in doing so, eliminates the realistic possibility of private servers.

Any double entendre is unintended I assure you.
