I started playing Elite Dangerous recently. Pretty fun game, needs work. Worst community I've ever seen.
I made a few posts suggesting a few things to add to the game, and the little brats mass-reported me for trolling.

that's a big statement. Everything is relative, calling someone a the worst community ever might be harsh.

I think that makes this the best community.
over at the E.D. forums they have aggressive 24/7 volunteer moderators working round the clock. I've been banned twice in three weeks... and I"m not even an *******!

Both can be a real problem when given moderation privileges. Volunteer moderation can work, but you have to be really careful who you chose for your moderators. You need people with a thick skin and a lot of patience who will not over react and over moderate.
I have been a volunteer moderator on other forums and I believe in Moderation in moderation. 
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.
