The problem is he clearly didn't watch the developer video detailing nearly all of the game's core mechanics, one of which is EVE Online style "lock-and-fire" mechanics both for infantry and ship combat. Dual Universe is not going to be a shooter and has never claimed that they would be.
I myself am very intrigued by the project and I hope it succeeds. However, it is NOT designed to be a traditional FPS like IMMORTAL WAR HERO seems to be implying.

CCP has one of the most powerful game servers in the world to handle EVE Online.

Sounds like it could be interesting, but if they're relying on kickstarter for a massive project, I imagine they're a little out of their depth. |

I would like it to be a shooter no lie but what i like about the game concept in general is the open from ground to space sandbox mmo environment where you can just freeroam that does not exist in any genre in any game any way on ps4

We'd make an offline game, which doesn't require net code or the pricey running of a server.
I don't have any preference to shooters myself, I only tend to pick one up when it's got "something else" going for it... The game honestly has my interest, I'm just very weary when people start promising things. |

CCP has one of the most powerful game servers in the world to handle EVE Online. They talk about that in their video. It's some odd kind of super-instancing that treats grid-squares on maps as instances while allowing players to move between them without loading screens to provide a seamless open world without massive lag.
Their video has a better phrasing of what I just said.

Duel Universe looks like what we EVE players back in 2008 hoped that EVE Online would eventually develop into. It is very much like EVE but on planets as well as space, unlike EVE Online which is still restricted to space only.
With Duel Universe and Star Citizen both in development it is clear that the future of Space MMO's will have avatars which can be played in both terrestrial and space environments. They will have single shard universes and allow interaction of large groups of people. There is no guarantee that either Duel Universe or Star Citizen will achieve the goals they have set for themselves, but they set the expectation and eventually someone will manage to achieve it.
There will come a time when EVE Online will have to develop a more extensive first person avatar experience in order to compete when MMO's come out that have all the attractive features of EVE (Resource extraction, Industry, Open Market, PVP, Nation building, etc.) but provide both first person interaction and space ships. Hopefully with Project Nova they will be able to flush out a fully functional and fun FPS platform, and when the time comes CCP will be able to salvage EVE by integrated the separate games they have developed in the New Eden universe into a single game that will be able to compete against the next generation of space MMO's.
I would say that in order to secure a future for EVE Online, CCP needs to continue research and development of a first person avatar environment. It would make more sense to release a FPS so that continued R&D in the FPS environment can pay for itself, so as projects like Duel Universe and Star Citizen continue to pop up, it seems more and more likely that Project Nova will get green lit.

no doubt in my my mind the concept of dust/legion/nova will one day intergrate into eve just because of games like star citizen with all the lore and history behind EVE ccp could do better job than them all one day i think they just making good on ideas atm
