Someone brought up we should guess the final name for Project Nova in this thread: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=228745&find=unread
I suggested he make new thread. Never happened so I am doing it.
Anyway...
What do you think the final name of Project Nova will be?
My guess is EVE Mercenaries.
There are technically space mercs in EVE Online though that make all of their ISK off of warfare so EVE Infantry would be more specific but the name doesn't click for me.
CCP could go ultra simplistic and just name it EVE FPS. 
What's your guess?

EVE Phoenix is a popular suggestion.
The only issue I see with it is using bird imagery for an infantry game when that infantry game is also associated with a dogfight flight sim game and a space ship game. Birds are usually associated with flight, but everything else about the Phoenix lore works for an infantry game where the solders are reborn every time they die.
EVE Mercenaries does have a nice ring to it as well.
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

This project is being called Nova. If we assume that is a shortened version of supernova...
Supernovas are defined as: an astronomical event that occurs during the last stellar evolutionary stages of a massive star's life, whose dramatic and catastrophic destruction is marked by one final titanic explosion.
We could then assume DUST 514's shutdown was this catastrophic explosion.
What happens after a supernova depends on the size of the star. If the star was small then it shrinks to a tiny neutron star. If it was huge then it will likely become a black hole.
Since I can't come up with anything related to a nuetron star, I'm going with black holes instead.
EVE Singularity sounds cool, but that is the name of one of CCP's servers so I doubt it will be used.
EVE Event Horizon also sounds cool, but 'Event Horizon' is the name of a well known sci-fi/horror movie that you should see if you haven't already.
EVE Entropy doesn't have the impact I have come to expect from CCP.
I've painted myself into a corner here...

Iderno, man. I liked that movie for the most part. But things like plastic water bottles sloshing around in zero G space that should be frozen solid bug me. Details really... really p!ss me off in sci-fi lol. That, and I never could take that "Dead at 21" actor too seriously. "It's ok, baby bear! I'm coming!"
Still a damn sight better than Wing Commander. Bleh. Horrible movie. Great game though.

OK. that's enough of my topic diversion. Sorry, OP. I've seen Moon and liked it. Not horror, but still suspenseful. Never saw Ex-Machina or The Fountain. I heard The Fountain was trippy as hell.

Some of these are pretty good but none (not even mine) are really clicking for me so I've put more thought into it. EVE Legion was actually a pretty sweet name now that I think about it. I can't think of any other decent serious names beyond those above.
As joke guesses though as Nova characters will be traveling around in EVE without ever piloting a ship themselves:
- EVE Riders
- EVE Drifters
- EVE Hitchhikers ;)
