Pretty damn good for a first attempt, though I'm not sure I've ever heard the term "tilt shift" before. What is it exactly?

^Photography with a special lens that changes the focal plane of the camera. It creates a miniature optical effect and some really cool and unnatural focus/out-of-focus points relative to what you would normally see with a standard lens. You can reproduce similar effects in an image editor such as Photoshop. There were several Adult Swim bumps in the last year or so (not sure when, honestly) that used this effect.
Neat.
around 2:30 it gets pretty epic and trippy. IMHO.

That's what I thought. You're basically faking a change in the focus point to produce an optical blur in objects in the foreground and background of the focused point.
It's always best to do that effect inside the camera but obviously some cases pop up where you need to fake it in photoshop. I have about 15 years experience if you ever need advice or help on something, just let me know.
