Even then 2 months is really pushing your luck.
With the amount of time it takes to create just one map, if CCP were to get us into early alpha today we would only be able to play 1 or 2 maps at the most depending on how the maps were made. If you follow up with CCP LogicLoop on Discord chat you would get an idea on how long its takes to make a map. From rough sketches to concept art to textures to modeling to play testing and looking for possible glitches in the map and perhaps any memory leaks, that would take a lot of time for just one map.
Maybe if you were referring to maps that were already made for Dust I would likely understand. But since Nova will likely be set in spaceships, that means new maps. Then there is the weapon balancing, dropsuit balancing, skill progression, item pricing, etc. which have very likely been rebuilt from the ground up which means anything we saw from Dust in terms of mechanic and balance is probably never going to be applied to Nova.
My point here is that 2 months is way to short of a time to even get pre-alpha started. I say give them time and let CCP get it right the first time THIS TIME. In the meantime, go ahead and play Overwatch or Unreal Tournament Pre-Alpha if you like.

I believe he said "This Year" not "This Month".
Besides they need time to create an epic CGI release trailer based off the critically acclaimed "Rise Again" trailer for Phoenix.

Lol while I agree with you completely, expecting CCP to have the level of transparency that an indie developer has is a pipedream.

Obviously, if they wanted to do that it'd be great, but I would never ask anyone to waste their time on such things.
The other thing is, with a kickstarter you want to let people know where your money is going, but here no one's paying for Nova. (inb4 "I payed money into Dust, so I have a stake in everything CCP does between now and eternity.) |

Well, the pet battle system is having some delays and flying mounts are only working for Minmatar and Amarr. Not sure about Gal and Cal content yet, but the heavy dropships are having problems turning left.
CCP logic GÇô NOVA isn't an actual product. It is only a project. We might not do it at all.

And I know about the Kickstarter thing, but still. Didn't they promise to have more communication? I think this is the best way to do it, and if you only have 1 guy don't it from the whole team, you're not really wasting resources/time.
