Since my time is likely short here given my prior history and lack of a CRU to respawn into, I figured I'd post something optimisticish
- Back when I got in through the second wave of keys, I quickly took to dropships. Squishing people was so broken but so fun Anyways, I took some time and got used to them, then CCP pushed out an update that changed around the controls and how the ship responded. The first time I called in a ship that update, I went to take off like I normally did. The ass end of the ship shot up as I got about one foot of air, gently taped the nose of the ship to the ground, and promptly exploded; heralding the entry into the hellfire that burned out my soul and left the rage filled wine connoisseur that stands before you.
- Even though it was short and I didn't talk much, my time with OSG was actually really fun. Everyone there was great and would work together so that was fun while it lasted
- Caldari Prime was cool even if it was just a glorified skybox
- And basically any and every time I landed a head shot with my Incubus Railgun

- Any time I ever got a Nova Knife kill in a PC.
- I once sat next to a dude in FW for a whole round Thales sniping with him. Had the enemy redlined HARD so we just kinda sat back and chilled. Shared ammo and stuff. Before the round ended I put a thales round into the back of his head. Still the best hatemail I ever got.

Here's a story I'll never forget.
Early in the history of DUST, a squad mate of mine whose name I can't recall and I were out in the open trying to get to an objective. He was wearing his Sentinel dropsuit wielding a forge gun and we were about halfway from reaching our destination when we suddenly spotted an LAV racing toward us. So my squad mate charged up his forge gun and just when the LAV was like fifteen feet away (or 4.5 meters for anyone outside of America), he absolutely destroys it in one shot, causing it to skid to his left along the ground on its front bumper.

When the sentinel was actually a good suit.
When the scout was better than the assault. (Never thought I'd miss that bullshit.)
When forge gunners were actually the best AV option, which they rightfully should be.
When you had to earn your skill points, 200K a week with no booster stacking.
When dropships were actually good.
When dropships were the only way to get onto a high point.
Basically everything from the time all racial dropsuits were released until myofibrils were given jumping. Game was so much better then.
How the DUST community has always treated Sentinels.

Getting 500 mil isk from a but-hurt forum dude that got killed once too many by a shogun serpent scout and put a 50 mil isk bounty on him, reward claimed by a video proof. Me and the wanted dude staged me killing him. The funny thing is that I received 500 mil instead of 50 mil, as he put one zero too many, so me and the serpent scout dude split the isk

They were always the best AV option if you could aim. As a former forge gun fan boy I want to agree with you, but the problem / virtue of the forge gun vs swarms is that with skill, you can actually make it much harder for a forge gun to hit you. If you know the charge times and travel speeds well enough, and particularly if you know the location of the forge gunner, you can twist your ship and change altitude to dodge a lot of shots. Swarms just hit you.

Being put on an very PC active corps A-Team despite play time being completely random or a lot of the time not at all. I think its sympathy though cause there is such a gap between me and the rest of them. Making some friends, friendly as you can get with people you'll never meet without being awkward.

That one day where for several matches I'd joined a random squad and we just had perfect synergy, I'd fly them between objectives as and when the squad leader set up the icons, they'd poop out any AV... I'd annihilate any tanks (this was during the time a small turret could down a protato hardened tank.) We had a full squad so I wasn't using an ads for most of it, needed the extra seats... I'd just occasionally park up to support fire form a side turret, or climb out with the commando to join the hack. Very fond memories of that squad.
Also one of my early forays into the horror that is PC... Where the whole team got pushed out of all the objectives and the rooftops were filled with av, I thought "**** it" and pulled an LAV with CRU. Most of the team just spawned in and took the objective... Held it despite being horribly surrounded... Terrible place to spawn everyone really, lol. |

I think my fondest memories were of FW before LP was in place.
The games were better than Pubs, and there were many close matches. I think the close matches were the best. The ones where you had the enemy MCC down next to nothing, but your clones were nearly out, and you were just hoping your blueberries were smart enough not to get themselves killed.

It was glorious.

This x1000...
We were against Molon Labe in one of our early PC matches.. They had AV all over the Rings city so Derpty's ADS was going nowhere... Usually if you have a pilot without a mic that gets denied in the air.. they give up....
Then this crazy mofo bombs through the map in a MCRU LAV.. avoiding the highground forge guns and delivering troops to the slaughter... At first I thought "WTF??!" Then I realized the brilliance of Derp and have never doubted it

The earliest days were the best even with the unbalanced play. I also liked the early, more open maps before modules. There was alot more positivity and new faces at that time. Things seem to kind of broke down and went south slightly before and after PC was released (even though I had some fun in PC). I remember for a long time CCP spent tweaking nothing but in-game sounds when there was alot more important things in need of rework. Rattati did pull DUST out of a nosedive from there but I think he countered all of his good work when he added the super jumping.

Awww I didnt know you cared!
Would like to get the old corp up and running again when Nova hits, with a new CEO that isn't as terrible.
I actually remember a really awesome HAV vs Dropship duel you and I had one match. I think you won overall, but dealing with a very competent dropship pilot using a blaster of all things was very thrilling and challenging.

First time I unlocked prototype knives. I had them on a ck.0 scout with a duvolle AR at around 1.7. So OP, or so I thought, until I researched about dust more and more and stumbled across a channel that sucked hours out of my study time when I was in school; moody.
Immediately spent the 174k weekly SP onto combat rifles, unlocked the boundless and yeah. So happy. Then the million clone challenge came, I unlocked mk.0 scout. Also happy. And respecs. Also VERY happy. Going 71/2 with Devilish Killzone coincidentally on the same team. Held down a point with an ak.0 and a Viziam. The countless videos I was in with king thunderbolt's conspiracy theories. The logi-assaults with Raven-747 and Lightning35
Then I knifed musturd, radar, tibs, duna, but never ever ever found moody. Different matches but I know I did it!

My happy times were when laser rifles came out and people were still trying to figure out their sexiness. I was among the first to realize how their used and it was amazzzzzzzing. I liked playing death match and hanging out in a corner of the map and still being able to destroy people near the center. Some people would get mad and try to get me, if they were lucky enough to close the distance, I had my proto Smg ready for them. Apparently I had a game where I went 50/1 according to a screenshot on my phone. Good times

I loved the old dropship physics when barely anyone could fly them without ending up in a ball of flames after 12 seconds.
The (not as) old dropship mechanics with the modules was cool as well. Lost all your health? Slap the afterburner on to buy yourself some time, then hit the active armor rep to save yourself and your ship. You only exploded if you hit the ground.
Also loved when the orbital artillery had all of its buildings, all the ladders, and no fences on the rooftops. Had a lot of amazing sniper/forge duels with shotgunners sneaking around, but then AR scrubs whined and ruined the map because it was the one place they couldn't dominate.
Honestly, Dust was pretty good during its final build as well. The myofib buff added a lot to the game if you actually used it to climb rather than bounce around like an idiot.
