I still care about how many damps and precision enhancers people used for some reason, Now it does not matter would you mind spilling the beans.
Also I always wondered about the people that loved rigging ambush games so you could shot people as soon as they spawn in and they had no chance. That is just weird, why destroy a game |

I soaked my suit in water to fit more damps.
I also went and got a Grammarly module for some reason.
I guess I like modules.

dust514 is NOT a team sport like football, Most players would make their team lose if it got their squad more kills.

I usually only ran 1 damp and one precision on gal scout. Sometimes 2 precision. And second damp on Scotsman.

Yeah, I think I ran 2 on my cal scout but still ended up getting sniped so meh. It's been a LONG time since I've logged in though so who knows if my dementia has tainted that memory.
Re: spawn-campers, yeah. I never got that. I remember back in closed beta I was with a squad that hacked everything except for one lonely CRU. It confused me thinking why not get the WP, so I started hacking. The squad proceeded to shoot me in the back so I stopped, thinking we were taking fire from reds. But everyone just stood there not hacking, laughing on comms. That really confused me until I saw a red spawn in and the squad HMG immediately took him out. After watching three or four encounters it finally hit me and it sickened me. I hacked it and moved on.
It's one thing trying to get between an enemy squad and a CRU, taking out respawns as you move in to hack. It's a completely other matter to just stand there shooting fish in a barrel for KDR padding. Hey, it's a game mechanic when you look at it as a means to an end to clear clone counts in an efficient way; but still there something about the principle of the matter for me. Still though, I wonder if motivation was to clear clones for a team win or to just boost KDR for personal bragging rights.
Maybe that's partly why I sucked as a merc? lol.

Spawn-camping was, probably always will be, the cheesiest way to gain wp/kills.
Can't say I never did it, but it was exceptionally rare for me, and I just kinda grew outta that phase real fast like.

I use to run damps on my cal heavy on the city maps. That was before the layout change.. mostly to get below the scan resolution of vehicle scanners for forging.

Hopefully the dynamic scanning in Nova will solve the issue of "idk how many damps I should run"

I used to run 4 complex precision min logi. It was so underused yet so effective, having a 40m scan radius of 20, and replacing a possible scanner slot with a hive.

Only ever put damps on my Caldari Scout. So two. I managed to get my profile down to 16dB without the Kaalakiota Cloak. Would have been 14-15 with it. People could still see me, of course, if they looked in the right direction and knew what to look for. But it was fun being almost invisible.
To me, a cloak is supposed to be completely invisible. That's the whole point of it. The way they nerfed it, it was almost like they just made you semi-transparent, just another of the idiotic things that CCP did to the game, presumably in their endless quest to satisfy whoever yelled the loudest. :)
As for precision enhancers, usually 2 but sometimes as many as 4 depending. They were only advanced, though, never had the chance to get them to level 5. |

Yeah. Cloak for me always felt watered-down in the end. Perhaps I'm biased from playing rogues in WoW years back but I thought one on ones out in the wild with other random rogues or druids was my end game. Stealthing figure 8 patterns to zero in on that brief *woosh* sound or to catch a glimpse of a stealth ghost before it disappeared again was all i cared to do most days. I got excited at the idea of being a paper-thin, high alpha stealth hunter with guns! That never seemed to ever really play out though.

I would usually only use 1 enhanced damp- enough to avoid the average scan, because I didn't want to waste ISK and fitting space as insurance against dedicated scanning fits that I rarely encountered anyway.
As far as precision enhancers, I never bothered. Wasn't overly concerned with being able to scan people, though it was nice when I did.
