Who has a gaming PC already and what specs do you guys have.
if not what PC components have you been looking at to create your PC.
I got my self a high end budget PC, AMD CPU 8cores 4ghz, 16gb ram, GTX970 GPU, and only 250gb SSD and a standard hardrive.
its not the best PC but it will play anything maxed which I am happy with.
Playing Star Conflict on Steam, its a free to play space dogfighter similar to Warthunder.
I'm curious to hear what other peoples set ups are or what they want.

Its definitely not the worst either! Sounds like a decent combo, I'm going Intel I don't like the power and heat the amd creates.
When in doubt pull the forge out!!

yeah the AMD CPU definitely creates more heat, but was a little cheaper.
I would of went Intel if I had more cash.

I have
Intel i3 4130 8 GB ram GTX 750 Ti
I can play Witcher 3 on medium settings on 1080p which is nice. MGS 5 can be played on High/Extra High with 60fps locked on 1080p.

My new rig, which I assembled myself, is as follows.
Intel Core i5 4460 Processor ASRock H97 Anniversary Motherboard Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250GB Western Digital HDD 1TB AMD Radeon R9 390 8GB GDDR5 Graphics Card 8GB PNY Memory Card Thermaltake TR2 600W Power Supply NZXT Source 210 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case
This is a very solid rig from what I have experienced and it is able to handle Eve Online and Overwatch very well is relatively high settings. But I have to keep the temperature in mind. For that reason I added 2 fans to the case an positioned them in a way to try to keep air pressure neutral in the case while still removing excess heat. Another thing I had to do was purchase separately a mounting bracket for the SSD card so that it can be secured to the case.
One more thing to note though.
If you intend to put together a rig for use with the Oculus Rift you will have to go for the Intel Core i5 4590 instead. My computer seems to be well enough for the HTC Vive but that was pushing the graphics card temperature to about 73 degrees Celcius which is not something I want to push unless I can setup the rig to be water cooled.

As an added note, I would highly recommend Windows 10. Especially the 64-bit version if you can put together a rig that can handle it. The one I posted earlier can definitely handle it as it was designed for it. One of the best things about it is that it comes with Game DVR which is a feature built into the XBOX APP for Win10. The Game DVR lets you record videos of any game you play like Eve Online and stores it in the HDD or SSD of your choice. Couple that with Windows Movie Maker which is free to download from Microsoft's website and you got yourself a pretty good video studio for starters.

Intel CORE i3 single core 3.7GHz 8Gb DDR3 with an empty slot for another 8Gb unit (upgradeable to 16Gb) nVidia GeForce GTX950 1Tb memory space
Can run WoT on high at 60FPS 1080p and PS2 on medium/high at 60FPS 1080p.
And if you're into trucks, it runs ETS2 on max settings at 60FPS 1080p with no stuttering.

It's more common than you think. YouTube has plenty of videos of people buying them and doing an unboxing.
The sound card is something I actually don't have at all but so far I don't seem to need it because the motherboard is doing a fine job with the audio.

Wasabi Mango 40 inch 4k 60hz w/ freesync straight out of Seoul South Korea but uses the LG panel. I just swapped this in for my old 4k tv last week in prep for the RX480s. 3 x Seiki 24 inch 1080p 60hz (These are more for the work side of things but may be getting an upgrade soon)
Perrix MX-3200 Gaming mouse. (Greatest mouse ever made IMO) Crappy Logitech keyboard Logitech keyboard / touchpad combo for netflix and what not.
5GHZ Bridge hardwired to only PS4 and PC Trendnet dual band router with only the bridge on the 5GHZ band. Laptops, tablets and the NAS are on the 2.4 band and cell phones have their own linksys router.
I will be upgrading to a new system with 16 GB of DDR4, a 500GB SSD, a 1TB hybrid drive, and the Zen processors on the AM4 platform but that's not making it out until the end of the year at best.
I typically skip a couple of generations before I upgrade as you can tell by my current system and I got lucky that all this fun new stuff is coming right at the time for me to upgrade to try to cover the next 4 - 5 years. I started this system in late 2011 right when the 8150 black edition was released and only did minimal upgrades like the second graphics card and the second SSD so I would say it had a great run.

Just imagine what the Alpha is going to look like with a GTX 1070 or even 1080 in it. Thanks to the low power use of all these new chips something at least close will land in it. Digital Storm has already put the 1080 into an all in one.
I feel like that would actually be a pretty freaking good machine tho still not as good as a full size box.

Yep and that was with etra 4 gigs of ram(8 total) and a seagate momentus. It originally comes with a crappy samsung hard drive. No regrets. Only bad thing is i gotta adjust to multiplayer lol. People are just beastly on pc compared to console |

Wow that would be amazing. Still, there apparently is a new alpha coming out. Its actaully more powerful. "The original Alpha (reviewed here) featured an Nvidia GeForce GTX 860m along with either a dual- or quad-core Haswell CPU. The updated Alpha R2 will have two GPU options: The base version is an AMD Radeon R9 M470X with 2GB of GDDR5. ThatGÇÖs not a new Polaris part, but an older 28nm Bonaire-based GPU.
The higher-end Alpha will offer a GeForce GTX 960 GPU with 4GB of GDDR5. ThatGÇÖs not a GeForce GTX 960m laptop chip, mind youGÇöAlienware says it's a full-on desktop part." So slightly more powerful. |

You can fully expect to see steam boxes with that chip popping up around the end of this year most likely.
I would not be surprised at all if the standard GTX 1080 landed in steam boxes pretty soon also as its TDP should easily allow for it to be in a more confined space.
I still think you would be better off with a microatx system than a "console PC" just because of more ability to customize and upgrade into the future. Either way at the end of the day PC is making some absolutely incredible strides this year and consoles look to be very near death.
