We know that Nova will be on steam most likely thanks to the info we got from the demo.
Now you can run steam on the PS4 with a little bit of work but this is always the first step before a bundled installer of sorts.

So you can jump through all kinds of hoops to make it work on a PS4 or... you can just own a PC.

With this type of setups it always starts out complicated before it is stream lined down to a process that anyone can use.
Absolutely agreed on the just own a PC part tho.

Guys, I heard you can take a PS4 apart and fashion it into a codpiece.
You don't have to adapt to stupidity. Natural selection takes care of that.

In other words, a console gamer who isn't all that tech savvy will look at this and say "I'm not gonna waste my time trying something that may or may not brick my $400 console."

Of course. When you take a PS4, remove its OS and run an OS on it which isn't restricting the user in every way possible and essentially make the console a low end PC and install PC software, it can run it. With it comes the inability to run PS4 games though.
But well... there is a Linux version of steam... there is no Linux Version of Nova yet.

Unless if it's Free to Play or there is an exception, PS Plus is not required.

Not entirely true. Many games allow online play without a PS+ subscription, though in some cases there are limitations to the extent of what you can do without a PS+ account (Raids in Destiny for example). Free to Play games also do not require Playstation Plus, so Nova would not require it.
Additionally PS+ is constantly offering free content each month for all of their platforms, and at only $50 a year (and sometimes less) you're looking at a little more than $4 a month.....(Netflix is double that last time I checked), it's incredibly reasonable and a very good value.

Just ditch the whole idea of using ps4 for anything if they do put it on steam then your going to get a streamed version of the game making your gameplay experience horrible even if you do have straight up fiber optic internet i am talking 500mbps down and 150mbps up.
The way i see it is if you have at least a decent PC with half decent internet why not map your PS3 or PS4 controller to your PC thus allowing you to hdmi your pc to your monitor / tv allowing you to play Nova using a ps3 / ps4 controller.
I already rigged mine up and have my ps3 / ps4 controller working on all kinds of PC FPS games, so in reality i would just be missing the PSN menu from my prior dust 514 experience.
Cant friggin wait for nova! Vehicles or not super pumped.
