If you could go back to the beginning of your DUST career and do things differently what would you do differently and why? Are there certain alliances you wouldn't have made? If so, why and what would you have done instead?

Any Corp you wouldn't have joined?

Any Corp you would have remained with until the end?

Any Friends you wish you didn't lose touch with?

 :) Fire away.

I'd probably have stuck with one with character instead of making like 10 different ones when I first started. From there I also would have specced properly into proto suits before I started playing PC.
Would have liked to meet up with the people I know now sooner too.

CCP doesn't listen, and sugar doesn't belong in tea.

Who said anything about regrets? Admitting that, if given the opportunity to go back, you would do things differently doesn't necessarily mean that you regret what you did do and how you handled what others did but that you can acknowledge that you learned how not to do things based off of experience.

Learning from mistakes doesn't equate to regretting something, in my opinion.

But perhaps the forums are not a good place to get into something that deep. LOL

Admitting that, if given the opportunity to go back, you would do things differently doesn't necessarily mean that you regret what you did do and how you handled what others did but that you can acknowledge that you learned how to do things better based off of experience. Not only does it take maturity to look back and reflect on the past, but it's kind of fun! Learning from mistakes doesn't equate to regretting something, in my opinion. But perhaps the forums are not a good place to get into something that deep. LOL

 Point taken.

I read the question's premise as being a product more of regret than just experimentation. However, "learning from mistakes" is knowledge applied moving forward, not backward. And to hypothetically want to apply it in retrospect normally would be because the original decision proved regrettable, whether it was actually regretted or not. "Regret" even if only just a tiny and completely negligible bit is a part of what makes a mistake a mistake and helps in recognizing the opportunities in the future to not repeat them, ie becoming experienced.

You respect the future because of past mistakes if you learned something.

Personally I would have focused my SP and saved some for each patch. And asking for more help in game & forums.
