Being pure Caldari I obviously don't have a choice, but I've had to learn some serious strategies to avoid excessive death. I find adding a bit of reactive armour to the suits helps, too... ;) Nah it's all about the regulators and kinkats. Kinkats on every suit, regs on most shield suits. Knyfelyfe. Kiss me. Omnomnomnom.

I like the way I can zip around the action in a fast shield suit, almost like a big scout. :) For some situations, though, I don't have the choice of moving fast. For pure CQC, I have to be able to take some punishment, and with scramblers and lasers able to just melt shields like they weren't there, I find without a little bit of armour, I'm dead way more than I like. Edit: There is also the fact that a kincat steals one of the shield regs from a suit. The extra delay is only a few tenths of a second, but in the heat of battle that can be a very long time....
