Did you want to control the Ore havesters from C&C? well now you can and you can build silos too and bunkers and walls and turrets and other things.
I remember when stuff like this was asked for in DUST, do you think it will be worked upon in Nova at some point in the far away future?

Planetside 2 sucks balls. Source: Been Playing since 3 years on/off(mostly off.)
Granted its gotten better over time, but still, at this point, it should be waay better. It used to have shitload of cheaters(now fixed), and is still client sided, meaning anyone can use a lag switch. They still dont have servers covering most geographical regions, just EU, US and an AU server. Forget Asia.
The battles are a complete shitfest, ghost capping happens 16 hours a day, zerg rushes galore. Vehicle/AV/Infantry interaction is waaay worse than Dust. You dont even start with a viable AV Loadout, and have to spend upwards of 1000 certs to even deter vehicles. LAV/Air Flybys will completely wrecks newbies, as they never see it coming.

Really? thought it was dead easy, just a general FPS except on a larger scale.
Vehicles/AV/infantry are more balanced in general and it is dead easy to be AV in early game, called grab a vehicle and shoot things until you can get a decent RPG or go engy and put down mines or jump jet an flying C4 scrubmode.

Unless you do alerts then there is no endgame, it is nonstop fighting and after a while it does wear thin and is boring when it is not primetime.
I doubt they have changed it, end game does not exist.

It's rather discouraging to spend hours turning an entire continent red for the Terran Republic, and the moment you log out for the night it's all blue and purple again.

Yup. The first few times I ran with organized forces in PS2 it was a blast, then I realized we were going to all this effort for little actual reward beyond the experience. The base building stuff is a nice way of taking battlefield flow out of the hands of the map designers, but it doesn't make me want to play the game again because it's all still (relatively) pointless. |

The problem with Planetside has always been its transience.
Here is life in Planetside:
1) Spend all day leading outfits to trash the opposite empire, hacking all the things 2) Go to sleep 3) Wake up 4) Realize that bored australians undid all your handy work by ghost hacking all night long. 5) Spend all day leading outfits to trash the opposite empire...
Planetside is basically a bloated lobby shooter, whereas Dust is more like an RPG in small chunks.
Dust will never get you the rush of leading a squadron of bombers to nuke a 50 person armor column, and Planetside willl never get the type of drama, grudges, and long campaigns that have defined corp vs corp warfare in Eve and Dust.

I remember when stuff like this was asked for in DUST, do you think it will be worked upon in Nova at some point in the far away future? Scavenging Grounds (Or were they Salvage Grounds) were developed in Project Legion, along with the salvage process, before Project Legion was shelved. I don't see why they would not add this to Nova considering they already have the assets.
The fact that the assets for salvaging materials for crafting already exist makes this low hanging fruit, so I would expect crafting to be part of the release build if Nova gets green lit.

The lack of drama and focus on the moment of large battle with no end game is attractive to some players. Like one continuous pc match that doesn't require any drama. It's hard to label a game pointless when gaming is already pointless to begin with. The endgame is networking and refining strategies. It's a true sandbox which is not a popular system with the majority who need set goals and displayed rewards.
