No shield delay on shield suits. Increased armor rep on armor suits. No built in armor rep except gallente.
Correct racial bonus application for ALL hybrid weapons (railguns) on gallente suits and correct racial bonus application for ALL hybrid weapons (blasters) on caldari suits. They use both in eve, they get bonuses to both in eve. They should use both in nova and get bonuses to both. Hybrids are hybrid weapons.
Weapon and shield resistance stats on suits and resistance modules.
Add in Damage control units
Increase maximum slots to 8 instead of 5.
Full weapon parity. 4 shotguns, 4 sniper rifles, 4 assault rifles with 4 variants (Breach ar, cr, sr, rr, then tac assault and burst), 4 battle rifles, 4 grenade launchers, 4 heavy AV weapons and 4 heavy infantry weapons. Etc etc. Caldari grenade launcher would be an Emp mass driver that destroys equipment and shields, smaller ranger flux grenades basically. Can scramble radar and signatures. Gallente would have plasma that applies small burns they do damage over time. Amarr would have gamma x rays that bypasses percentage of shield and armor for increased damage. Minmatar have a shotgun that fires mini explosive pellets, caldari could adopt the breach shotgun with long range high damage slugs. Stuff like that.

Because why wouldn't they? No point in limiting the weapon pool when there's all sorts of cool racial twists that could be put on weapons. Shotgun and breach shotgun are both hybrid and fill the gal/cal slots. Shotguns have fragmentation rounds available today. Perfect for minmatar and they're boom making. Give the breach a new caldari skin and write some description about firing accelerated metal fletchettes that are longer range and more accurate than their gallente counterpart. Amarr would have a highly accurate scrambler rifle looking thing that only fired in charged shots like a ksg.
4 shotguns fitting 4 styles. That's like saying why bother having a scrambler rifle if we already have a tac ar. They play different and do different things
Most important for me though is all the rifle variants. I want a tactical/burst railrifle Burst railrifle would be like the g11, 3 rounds so fast you only get recoil once. A breach scrambler rifle with a rate of fire cap or a slow automatic fire not as fast as the assault and a burst variant. Minmatar need a tactical combat rifle and I believe breach. Gallente already have their 4.
That's 16 weapons derived from a birth gun 4 races each race has its definitive gun and then 3 derivatives imitating the other races but not as effective Combat rifle king of bursts > burst assault > burst rail > burst scrambler Assault rifle King of assaults > assault combat rifle > assault scrambler > assault rail rifle Rail rifle King of breachs > breach scrambler > breach assault > breach combat Scrambler King of tacs > tac rail > tac combat rifle > tac assault
all 16 each have a balanced slot performance wise that goes with their philosophy. Since gallente primary blasters their worst category is the tac, they can use it to get bonuses from their racial suit or eschew those if they want to go straight for the scrambler rifle. Each race would have 1 top spot, a 2 spot, a 3 spot and a 4th spot. So no race gets unbalanced and gets 2-3 top performing spots for weapon variants. Gal and min have the worst long range breach options, cal and amarr have the worst burst and assault versions.
Really I have a couple posts elsewhere from a long time ago of racial melee weapons also and potential heavy melee weapons. Amarr are religious they get paladin inspired weapons. Either a light golden mace or heavy golden 2 handed claymore, maybe heat it up so it looks molten. Gallente could get a plasma bladed hatchet for a light melee weapon and a heavy sledgehammer with an afterburn mechanic that accelerates you forward a very short distance when you attack with it. Minmatar can keep the knives if min scouts don't want something like a mining chainsaw repurposed into a weapon. In their lore they have their own weapon they used against the amarr with a weird name. I guess it's like how the Klingons have that weird sword of theirs but this is like a Glaive I'd have to find the article. Caldari get the knives back and get a long nova sword.
I think I have a post about shields also for heavies so they can lead corridor charges after the nightmares we've all seen at the underground cru in the gal research facility. It'd have its own hp and limit heavies to the weaker light melee weapon (not the two handed heavy variant) or a sidearm and eat damage from the front until it hits 0 and is destroyed like equipment but it can be repaired by repairers or rechargers. Amarr have an armor shield duh. plant it in the ground as its ability Gal shield would have small repair aspect and be armor also, they'd have a melee attack with a sprinting charge then bash if they hit someone. Caldari shield could be a wide shield that emanates from the heavy almost like a bubble shield but only towards the front, it's special boosts nearby shields and reps them at the cost of its own shield hp. Like a remote shield repair. Minmatar could have a small lighter weight shield that's part armor and shield and can repair its own shield shield and armor.
Then you can have crouching heavies forming a spear head for an assault and logi to get behind and fire over And oush hallways. They could deploy the shield and leave it for others to use as temporary cover and if td not destroyed retrieve it or use it to box off areas they need to defend.
I could so see an amarr heavy being the tank for his squad and everyone falls in behind him to push an objective while he and his shield and giving everyone cover as he trudged down a hallway and a caldari heavy walks around the far corner with a forge gun and starts blopping away at his shield and his health. He slams his shield into the ground and crouches, shield gets hit, he fires scrambler pistol, gets hit himself 1 or 2 times by the forge but he took enough damage for his squad to get the other heavy when he reloads and they push forward and take ground because of him. That's how the amarr play, slow with long range weapons and thick armor so they can just keep creeping forward inch by inch like an iron wall.
Only limit is eve race rules and their imagination.
