After reading the various articles and interviews with ccp my morale has upgraded from an average of 115% to 120%. I'm excited for this game. It's going to be a lot of what dust was supposed to be. With the flexibility to grow and become something potentially even better. I want them to nail this game down! I want this to be the "eve" of first person shooters. A game that lasts for well over a decade. That constantly gets built upon. I would gladly put time and money into such a game. Here's to the future guys!

I wasn't late at all, I've been one of the people fighting to help salvage the perceived image of nova since it was announced at fanfest. There's a bunch of posts I've recently put up saying essentially the same thing. So your slow! And I will kill you many times in nova! With a laser beam!
I was just feeling good about life and wanted to come on the forums and post a positive thing in regards to a game I'm anticipating :)
(i also thought it would be a next level trolling technique since so many crybabies on these forums can't help but to get mad when other people are otherwise optimistic/happy)

My morale is unique in that it has stacking bonuses. The bigger it gets..... The faster it grows......

This is EXACTLY what they did in the before time, using articles and interviews to put people at ease without really actually putting anything behind their words.
It will probably change this time around, it just has some serious Deja Vu attached to it is all.
The key difference now in my opinion is that it's on PC

The key difference now in my opinion is that it's on PC But with PC comes a very competitive market with very picky players. It's a double edged sword. I want nothing more than to see the dream realized, I just worry they'll be looking to simplified mass appeal this time around to cash in on the F2P model.
What other game will actually be able to compete in the niche that nova is shooting for? Planet side 2? Good concept, except I feel no attachment to pretty much anything I do in that game. Csgo? Not an mmo. I mean, it's not like dust wasn't also competing against every other shooter on console. It's literally exactly the same except like an extra two games. But I don't know of any game that has as much potential as nova has. Like, what other game is linking a massive space mmo with a massive shooter mmo with all the features and player dynamics that includes? None that I can think of. You know it's true too. Your on these forums after all. Not those other games.
My morale is HYPEEEEEE

DUST Fiend wrote:But you keep just acting like the link is a given, when it's anything but. It is still VERY much in the air, and I for one am basically flailing violently against even the slightest possibility that the game is moving away from said link.
The obvious competition is Star Citizen, though that's more in terms of scope and quality since the game will appeal to a seperate market. Angels Fall First is actually ******* incredible for a 7 man team with no budget, who knows how that game will pan out. There are a large number of smaller FPS games out and being developed that while not groundbreaking, will not be any worse than a simplified version of DUST.
CCP can tell me all day long they're going to build the link some day down the line, but until I actually see tangible results, all I'm left to see right now is a very generic shooter with DUST skins.
It's too early to pass judgement, I just can't help it with this game because I have a disease.
I mean..... Maybe it's just me..... But the whole reason why this game exists conceptually in the first place was the eve/dust/nova link. I thought that it was kind of implied. It's not even like dust had a great link either yuh know. The only difference is that now they won't have the tech debt to deal with.
Dust was always supposed to help support eve by drawling in more players/interest. "Wow look! PC players and console players working together" "whoaaaa your fighting on the planets that they're fighting in space over??" It's in ccp' sheet interest to create a eve/nova link purely from a business perspective. It's what will make their game competitive and actually different from other shooters.
These guys run a multimillion dollar business. They aren't stupid. If the game gets green lit, all the things we want (mostly) will come to pass

I wouldn't expect a whole lot till sometime around the 31st. Even then it could be a while. The games only been in development for 6 months. So if there's nothing to talk they probably won't talk much

I've upgraded my morale rating from 120 to 123% up 3% from a week or two ago. This bodes well for the game. I expect good news soon :)

GET HYPE This reads like a copy and paste on the EVE and early DUST forums circa 2010 to 2012. Beware! Don't jinx it. What's upsetting about this is that I was totally the guy making those kinds of posts back then
You'll see! You'll be that guy again one day soon! It is my god given duty to pull you out of your protective "pseudo pessimism" shell.
You'll see! When your hype and optimism returns and your morale skyrockets! You'll think back to me! The ever optimistic sheep that wasn't a sheep at all! And you'll message me! And will talk about the good old days! Then will commence smokey back room deals and rule new Eden together!
You'll see!
