sooo that would be me.
i know we dont know everything about nova right now but from what we have seen, would you say something like this would be efficient to run "nova"
any suggestion would be pretty cool.

Until the Alpha is released there is just no way to say what specs will be required.
Generally speaking any Alpha will require a little more power thanks to it being unoptimized but UE4s existing optimizations should keep those requirements low.
Unless there is a game you want to start on right now I would highly recommend holding off because the hardware wars centered around VR are just starting to heat up and going to leave some really awesome hardware at a lower price point within the next year or so. |

Slap an actual GPU on there and you should be fine- 8 gigs of RAM won't be an issue, but for the PC master race, you should be aiming for 16.
I'm also running a 1TB hard drive like it shows on there, and I feel like more space would be better.

Nah man that's terrible.
Avoid any PC that has integrated graphics instead of a separate GPU. Integrated graphics simply isn't good enough to run anything like nova. Although if you're lucky it might run minecraft :P
I'd recommend talking to cat merc about PC builds, from what I've seen he knows what he's talking about.

If you do go shopping for a graphics card to add on to the system linked above be careful as matching up GPUs to APUs can be very tricky and result in a much lower price to performance ratio if you do not get the right ones.
You will definitely need a Radeon card for them to pair up and be able to really share performance but which one will depend on which chip you end up with.
For gaming purposes I generally recommend staying away from APUs due to heat output when you try to game on them. Going with a well balanced CPU / GPU combo will get you much farther in the long run. Also APUs are harder to pair up with GPUs without ending up with a bottleneck in there. |

Personally i have an fx 6300 CPU and an r9 270x GPU. These work well considering how little i paid for them, although i must admit i do need an upgrade some time soon

WAIT for any upgrades.
The new Fury Duos and stuff that re hitting the market are amazing and we should see the new Zen processors with DDR4 support next year. Together those are going to change up the entire view we have on price to performance ratio. Even with all of them AMD crowd still blocked out of DDR4 we are still seeing it come down in price so once it is open to everyone we should see an even bigger shift down in prices thanks to being able to mass market and scale back DDR3 manufacturing to only fill the needs of those making small upgades on older systems.
Personally I can not wait to run project nova on a 12 core zen processor with 16gb of DDR4 ram and a fury duo card. Yep, I am finally going full on AMD fanboy this time around (currently AMD 8320 / Nvidia card).

Thanks all for the suggestions. Ok so no go on this. How about something to run max settings for final fantasy 14? I guess I could Google this and get a solid answer

Agrees with NOMOMHANDS. (scary, I know right?) We have no idea when or even if NOVA will be greenlit, much less reach a release state. Technology changes much too fast to predict what you will need down the road. Hard lesson for me was buying my first PC straight out of college for 3d. 9Gb SCSI drive with an OpenGL card. Next year DirectX seemed to take over, and CD-RW drives were becoming somewhat affordable making my work station a glorified nightstand. It's all but guaranteed that today's tech will be obsolete or at the very least much cheaper tomorrow. I'm kind of exaggerating with my story but at least you'll probably get better prices by waiting as new tech becomes the new FotM.
So yeah. Unless there's a game you want to play now, wait.

I will post something stupid later so you can disagree with me. I'm sure you are really sick of agreeing with me right now.
Is there a particular subject you would like to call me stupid on? LOL
As far as future hardware the roadmaps have already been laid out for the next year thanks to the VR wars getting going. There is lots of speculation on release dates and what not but the next 2 years are pretty much laid out thanks to it having turned into a complete race to market. The Oculus CEO saying that peoples' "crappy computers" was what is holding back VR definitely helped this.
Just take a look at AMDs stock price over the past month. I was fortunate enough to buy under 2.50 back in early march when first numbers from Oculus and Thrive were coming out which told me GPU sales were going to go nuts. |

Ha. Honestly, I can't even remember now wtf pissed me off so much. I just see your name and get twitchy---then feel immediately confused for the uncontrollable need to like your posts lately (some of them!). It might have been related to the announcement of DUST closing and random related threads... or at least in that time frame. Hell if I know. I'm trying to treat it all as anger-management therapy, so it's all good ;) But yeah, if you really do want to push my buttons then the hot topic for me right now is emotionally induced conclusions. I'm trying to pull back, though. I swear....
I don't THINK I ever called you stupid! I might have heavily implied something along those lines but surely I did not said it directly . I could be wrong. Age and all.
Good deal on the stock.

Thanks to microatx boards and 3d printing you could likely build a replica with some serious oomph for a reasonable price.
I did a media PC inside an old record player shell for a friend of mine to use in their living room a few months ago that absolutely made me jealous once it was done.

I suggest waiting until we get any announcement on when Alpha testing will be available and hopefully they will give us the general ballpark specs that we need to run Project Nova for testing at that time. It will probably be late in the year when it happens anyways or much later than that depending on the dev progress with CCP Rattati and his team.
In the meantime, save up your money and the price of the hardware you're looking for will fall by that time.
