And I have to say that it isn't "bad" considering it is a mobile game.
That being said I still think that more can be done.

Ehhh, I never looked at it as a "mobile game." As a child of the 90's, I played with the Virtual Boy and even then couldn't imagine playing it anywhere other than home.
It is a "cute" game. Cool little thing to play with and shoot some stuff but nothing meant to be used for any period of time longer than it takes to let out a stubborn bowl movement. Even if I weren't worried how goofy I would look wearing a head-mounted display in public, just being that completely engrossed in something when not in a truly comfortable environment never clicked with me. I would be totally fine playing Hearthstone on my phone while waiting at the bank but "let me just put my phone in this case, strap the bastard to my face, and better not forget the earbuds" was a step too far.
It is fun to play around with. I hate the dismissive attitude of "ohh, a 'mobile' game *sneer*" that happens too often (because a game is meant to be played on a small screen it is inherently bad? Tell me again about how great gameboy Pokemon is...) but trying to take Gunjack as anything more than "yeah, it is kind of fun to play and just shoot things for 10 minutes" is I think being both unfair to the game and giving it too much credit.
