Great article, cleared up some things.
Such as, "it's going to be 16 versus 16 instead."
So this is great. As for it being tactical, I would like to see a no respawn search and destroy mode. Bring some socom type of elements to the game with bigger teams.
If they go for multiple gamemodes, it would be so great if they have a big battle mode with vehicles. I wouldnt imagine that they don't have the tools to realize this.

Also, I like that they will have progression in each class.
We want skill trees at least to some extent.
Go to twitch tv, to CCPs channel. They have a 6hr stream saved there (Most recent one I believe)
Im viewing it on my PS4 right now. 1:47:15 is where they mention Nova if you want to catch the stream mentions. |

That is a really positive article and does make me feel more at ease (or is that the beer I have been drinking?)
Either way, I hope this project does see the light of day and I hope they consider my thoughts from my other post, we like the in depth MMO aspects, just need a better new player experience and more well defined objects and rules when starting out.
Keep grinding CCP!

This really stuck out to me. I like that notion.
It prevents the FotM crowd from taking hold, and rewards those who stick to a role when meta changes favor it.

Personally, I would like an unlock system like BF2142. That game just gave you a single equipment unlock that you could put into the tree of any of the four classes. Those unlocks were earned by receiving points for any activity in game with any class, so you could play Assault until you unlocked all the Covert-Assault gear on the Recon class and just switch to that. You didn't have to grind sniper Recon to get those unlocks.

However, it also might indicate that they removed modules/fittings in favor of playing a specific predefined role...... Which would really suck in my opinion. I liked being able to speed boost a heavy suit for the fun of it. Thats part of what made Dust so much fun. The whacky customization! My corp had a small group of people (including me) that called ourselves the R&D Department because we would just experiment with wild fittings to see what we could learn/achieve. If they took that away in favor of "skyrim like' levels of customization then...... I and a lot of others would likely be very dissapointed.

This gives me some warm fuzzies as well. I absolutely loath FOTM and the fact that CCP seems hell bent on fostering it despite their statements otherwise. Anything that mitigates or completely avoids FOTM is great in my book. |

They lead inexorably to exploits and FOTM. Things like jumpy speedy heavies with shotguns are an abomination CCP should be ashamed of. What's even worse is they actually think it's OK. |

Modules are still on the table, according to Breaking Stuff. I think the end game here is to have a system similar to the suggested loadouts we had in DUST. Classes begin with a certain fitting but can be altered later to make it your own; including off the wall stuff like dampened sentinels and cloaky commandos. One of the things that players seemed to really enjoy was customizing their fittings and I don't think CCP Shanghai wants to gut that.
The question really should be: how will CCP change the way we earn new modules, dropsuits, weapons, and equipment?

*mind blown* They shelved Project Legion, with no future in sight and then they tried to refocus on Dust, only to jumpstart it again under a new name? It's weird because I understand that the game was spiritually progressing on the PC but did they try to kill it all together at one point?
A little more mental gymnastics...Is the feedback and response suppose to be through Fanfest like with Valk. I feel like I am being trying to be recruited for corp Djinn Punisher hasn't staged a coup in yet.

Everyone that plays the demo here goes to a QA with Frame. They'll take the hundreds of suggestions they've gotten and take that to the alpha process.

Would be nice to make it exclusive to dusties.

Quote: "These are not final, but the progression is a kind of tech tree where you have to play in the loadout to earn it -- different from EVE and Dust 514, actually," I like this. It sounds like you buy skills to access suits/guns/etc but then when you play with the item equipped you gain proficiency. So someone who plays a Scout all the time will be more powerful than someone who normally plays a Heavy and has simply switched to the Scout to adapt to the tactical situation.
The idea that you have to use it to get good at it appeals to me.

I suppose the thing is we need to be positive here. CCP has never been very good with how to release information regarding DUST/NOVA. With that in mind let's discuss the good points.
36 Classes - Like holy **** that is 36 suits in total. Potentially before racial parity. We have already seen 6, which for the time being I will assume are the base classes.
That means we are looking at potential 1-2-3 tree for each weight class. This will allow suit bonuses to be tailored much more to a role.
16v16 Still in - So the demo had 6v6 which admittedly made the ship interior look rather empty. However we have had confirmation that at the very least we will not loose 16v16 which will turn those tight corridors into much more hectic battle spaces.
IN SPACE - That's right we are finally running around in Space. No longer are we in some planet of HighSec far away from any kind of action, now the maps we are fighting on will actually be relevant. We will be raiding cargo ships, sabotaging flagships and defending outposts.
Modules still in - Probably one of the biggest fears for most people, we are not loosing modules and fittings with customisation. Classes will not be so stringently enforced as they are in the demo, with you being able to swap out weapons, modules and equipment within reason.
New Engine - Perhaps one of the best things the demo has shown is the new engine. The UE4 engine is potentially one of the best engines currently available in he market for a reasonable price. UE4 is not only graphically stunning, but incredibly user friendly. Able to assess user generated code, creating new weapon and module variations will be relatively stress free by comparison to the heavily modded UE3 engine used for DUST. But that's not all, UE4 has inbuilt support for cross platform publishing.
Generic Starting Race - Possibly a point for contention, but having a generic class in the skill tree first makes the game much more accessible to newer players, with 36 classes across 4 races their is as many as 144 suits in total, that's a lot to throw at new player in one go. A new generic faction likely CONCORD will deal with by having the first suits you'll use. Learn the quirks of your suit then the quirks of your race.
Shotgun - The shotgun now shoots green.

This article is very reassuring!
If Alpha does happen this year, we should try to get Dust vets in the first wave. Sure, CCP doesn't owe us anything, but it'd be a great gesture if they took our feedback first.

Your mistaken. It's 36 classes between all 4 races.
Light med and heavy
2 Specialized lights, 2 specialized meds, 2 specialized heavies. 9 per race. 4 races total.
