I know i posted a goodbye notice the other day but I want to add something but on a different note.
Last night I came online to give out my isk and gear. Yeah I realise I'm early but dust has that addiction to me that stops me pursuing real life goals.
On doing this I got twisted to play a pc and in that match I made several new friends!
Then it hit me... the realisation of what this game brings. You have no "friend list" because you don't need it. You could chat and meet people and make friends better then any game.
On the ps4 you can't. On the ps4 it's all about "party chat" so no one really explores out of that. That in its self saddens me.
To know that I came on to quit dust and ended up meeting new people?? That's crazy to me.
So I started writing everyone's names down, for ps4. I shall add most of you guys tonight.
It's hard to say how the console bonds will be after dust. Whether people move to ps4. Or stop playing consoles.
Just to say to all I played and talked to.. I love all you guys! And whenever I'm online feel free to set a chat or we will play a game.
I will miss the mass groups of all of us.
On another note. If you want me to add you please put your psn down in comments!

We're pushing hard for similar features in the new game, because how can anybody expect a strong community, without the ability to communicate?

So, Darth, how far along into concept design is the new game? Adding "Chat and Mail" to a feature list sounds pretty simple doesn't it? Unless they have things locked in already and dont wanna spend resources on something that would change something already implemented.

The fact that you guys have to push for things like chat and mail is chilling. notLegion should be ramping up community, social and squad tools, these are widely acknowledged as the factors that made Dust as successful as it was, and are basic elements of gaming in New Eden.
There is no reality, virtual or otherwise, without connections between players. I'd like the notLegion devs to take a few moments to imagine EVE without social tools. Where does that thought experiment lead us? It turns EVE into an awkward and pointless simulator with very little inherent meaning to it at all.
TL;DR Fewer social tools = more meaninglessness. Not even worth writing that game, imo.

The way in which they gave us the function was like a low grade version of a chat ap. Which is great. If anything I'd push them to take note on how fb delivers it's product.
I can't imagine any massive differences made? Maybe smoother loading etc but I'm extremely happy with it.

Peace 07 Dr_Norm on psn Doesn't the ps4have a 'players met' function where you can friend request anyone you've seen in game? They do have a players met but it's very strange from what ps3 was. It'll include your actual friends in your party etc

I can't see any reason that CCP can't put these features in the new game. They're already in EvE and clearly were implemented to Dust for the same reason. |
