Too bad the new game will be going to PC. I already have PS3 and 4. Can't just run out and buy a PC. Not sure if I want to follow anyway. Suppose things don't get fixed and we are stuck with a game that may look great but still has the same old Dust problems??????????? Who knows it may turn out to be one of the best shooters ever. Too bad I may not ever experience it. I have always been a console player, that's all I know. I would get smashed worse than I do now LOL, having no experience in PC gaming. |

I was disappointed with Xbox one and ps4 so I let my bro talk me into building a gaming PC..I was very skeptical but not looking back now..I do miss how convenient consoles are but they're not for me..rumor is you might need a ps4.5 to run psvr? Hopefully that rumor doesn't turn out to be fact that wouldn't be cool to the ps4 gamers..VR would go from $400 to 7-800 easily if that's the case |

It would be better to get a pc for that price. |

You know.... Its like people seem to think that console controllers dont work on pc. They do. Many games support the feature. You dont have to force yourself to play with keyboard and mouse.
It all boils down to preference. And theres plenty of other games you can play. Grab a copy of skyrim and download some mods. Play failout 4. Mod that. There isnt just one or two games.

You can talk with cat merc and he'll help you build a pc(like tell you the right parts and tell you how to build it.) M/K is superior in precision to a controller. Hence if you play on PC and expect to be competitive, you HAVE to use M/K.
So no, it's not a choice in multiplayer games.

I'm not sure if the M/K will hold on to that title of being superior in precision for much longer. With the Steam Controller (see link below) now on the market, it now seems that controllers will eventually catch up with the keyboard and mouse especially since VR equipment such as the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and (eventually) the PlayStation VR are making VR much more ubiquitous than how it was attempted back in the '80s.

The KB/M combo does so much more, so much better. Depending on your budget and games of choice, high end mice and mechanical keyboards provide so much more flexibility. You will never be able to fit enough buttons on a key board to match a full size keyboard and ten button mouse. Pixel specific motion won't happen easily with a controller, whereas with a good laser mouse, it is assured.
Like with most things in the PC versus console space, customization options are what really wins. Being able to adjust for width, height, weight, sensitivity can make the difference between comfort and finger cramps.

I was expecting a good argument but you said steam controller so i just loled. Not on a fps. Its either a real controller or a keyboard and mouse that you play with. Not valves rather amusing cash grab thingy. Ive seen game play with it. Id rather see the steering wheel gameplay(that was a thing)

Cat, stop scratching the hand thats helping you. Arent You trying to show us thatbuilding a pc isnt as hard or as expensive as they make it out to be? And not everyome has stellar aim you know. People assume that everyone on pc has super aim that could wreck the most experienced console player. They dont.(cuz im one of them lol)

There is also the fact that going to PC, you will be locked into KBM controls, which may or may not be to your liking. Myself, I prefer a controller, but I am well aware of the fact there are those in this game that use KBM against my controller and mow me down. Why CCP continues to allow unbalance in ALL of their games, I don't know. Just allowing people to use KBM when the console input is by default DS3 actually creates an imbalance.
Personally, I don't like KBM for active games like FPSs. I think it works well for EvE which is more like controlling something from a control room than playing a hands on shooter. You don't even get to fly the spacecraft, really, despite the fact that aspect has finally been recently added. I'm very wary of the new NotLegion. Having to use KBM controls will be just part of my distrust of it. |

You can talk with cat merc and he'll help you build a pc(like tell you the right parts and tell you how to build it.) Here is the problem - it should NOT all boil down to preference. Some people are used to KBM for games and therefore express a preference for that form of input. Others either have never played with KBM input for a FPS or they simply don't want to for some reason. Why should they struggle against the KBMers when they're using the native controller for the console. As far as I can see KBMers have it head and shoulders over DS3 users.
A level playing field has just ONE form of control input. People who use KBM are BETTER at these games because they're BETTER at KBM. But if they had to use a DS3 like the rest of us, things would probably be very different. |

If you read my post closely, I never said that it was the perfect controller. Just that it's a possible precursor to future controllers (no matter who makes it) that might enable greater flexibility and possibly be even better than a keyboard and mouse in an FPS setting. Although the such a controller might not come from Steam. I expect maybe Microsoft or Logitech to accomplish that first sooner or later since they already have established themselves in that market. Steam is just getting started so I don't expect them to make the perfect controller for PC anytime soon.
Of course, on a FPS setting, current controllers such as the XBox or PS4 controllers can probably do way better than the Steam controller and without a doubt a keyboard and mouse can be a great asset in such a setting.
But when it comes to something like VR with the Oculus Rift other input devices might be a more practical option if you don't want to bother with removing and repositioning your Oculus headset every time you have to use the keyboard. In the video linked below you can see that the guy is using the Oculus for a very popular and somewhat old flight simulator. With enough practice and muscle memory you might be able to do just fine trying to find your mouse that you can't see while wearing the headset. However, in a setting like Flight Simulator, your primary control will be a joystick, not a keyboard. I'm now wondering if Eve Valkyrie is joystick friendly.
https://youtu.be/30pSJ0wOB6U
I'm not sure about FPS in VR though. The following link shows someone playing an FPS with the Oculus Rift but he didn't say what kind of control he was using. I'm going to assume keyboard/mouse for now.
