Since Dust is done, can anyone suggest a suitable replacement for the Playstation3/4 or Xbox360 that had all the things Dust offered?
I've been playing World Of Tanks and have come to find it severely lacking. There's no real competition as you lose nothing from dying, gain almost nothing from winning, you can't contact other players and there are no upgrades to earn to make you have a better edge besides experience.
I tried the Call Of Duty BO3 that came with my PS4 and it's all story. I don't want to play a part in some movie that plays oit all the time during game play that just means we are all the same charactor... and that bores me. Also the in-game play is against AI characters with horrible battle targeting displays.
I want the thrill of the battle where we are the character we create, against other players where battles are fought by how we play, where experiance and strategy are king, death cost you and winning pays so players have drive to conquer and gain rewards to make you more powerful than noobs, badges of experience are obtained and payers can socialize to either become allies and join each other in battle or hold grudges as enemies. It wasn't until it was gone that I realized just the fulfillment of getting hate mail from some loser is pissed because I wasted his ass too many times in battle. It make warfare so alive.

I don't know about "had all the things DUST offered"... because DUST offered several unique features that I haven't found in other games... but The Division is getting positive reviews. Given, my friends are playing it on PC. I'm not sure how the console versions are faring.

No matter what you accomplish in that game as far as map control, it'll be gone by the next time you log in. If you're cool with that, then the game should be a good fit for you.

Not really a Dust type game, but you should try a game called "Tanki Online".

I'll check that out.
I have seen the planetside2 advert on my PS homepage. Didn't sound like a PVP game but I guess I'll check out the demo if they have one.

The major issue that I had with it was the open space.
In dust there is open space, but even there if you run across someone it becomes a frantic scramble.
In planetside it always felt to slow for me.
Also if you are going to play it, I'd suggest getting into a group of people that play it, but that's just a me thing.

As some said before, PlanetSide 2 seems like the best option. Get some time to learn how the game works and you'll always find a good fight to fight. I rarely get bored playing it.
Many of my friends also went to Warframe which has quite a lot of depth. With craft, grind, warframe and weapon's optimization and customization, you'll have a lot to do for a long time !
Game over.

Tom Clancy's The Division. It will take a couple days to grind up your character, but then the darkzone has pretty much everything you are looking for. Quite a few dust-mates and I have been having a blast.

Get an entry level gaming PC for around $300 - $500 and apply for the closed alpha for NotLegion when its announced at FanFest; otherwise there's hundreds of games available on PC that are free to play.

I can only speak for myself obviously, but i've gone through many games and money trying to replace my addiction with Dust but i've found nothing. I'm thinking at this point the only real cure will be the next version of this game. So please CCP, for the love of god don't let it suck! You know, gotta get my fix and stuff.

I wouldn't recommend anyone get a PC just for one game, and if it is a priority, to wait to get recommended and minimum specs before getting one unless they want to go high end.

I would never get a PC for one game. If I wanted to get a PC, it would be for an increased standard of living overall, not just playing games.

I have a custom built commercial grade PC designed for audio/CGI/video creation and editing that would be comparable to top gaming PCS but I don't want to lock myself in a sound proof studio away from the family, nor get into tying up the system with game software. https://www.facebook.com/autumnalstudios/
I downloaded Planetside. Right away I hate that I can't tell friend from foe and I can't aim worth a famb. I'm really missing is my Move Sharpshooter

Going to link this here and hope I dont catch a bunch of hate for it, but the reason I am linking it is because it is from CEO Pyrex who used to be a popular dust youtuber. It also features at least one other dust player (a corpmate of mine.) This is his opinions on TC's The Division, and also showcases a bit of trolling (which duster love.) Enjoy! Or not..

Do you like the team based shooter aspect? Overwatch comes out in May (what I'm switching to). Open Beta is May 5th Downside is that it doesn't have any customization or character building.
FFXV is coming out later this year if you want a good RPG, but it's obviously not a shooter. Big info announcement at the end of the month.
idk, just wait until Fanfest when CCP will give out some info for what is coming in the future. EVE FPS won't be Dust, but it will still have some things in common (hopefully fixing a lot of the issues Dust has)

The Dark Zone should be called the Heart Zone or something equally fluffy.
It's a PvE grinding snorefest where PvP is so heavily punished that you lose hours of grinding for a single death and nobody bothers.

Turns out there are DbagSnags who intentionally try and get killed by friendly fire to turn people Rogue then kill them just for griefing. Sounds like they need to tone down penalties a bit.
