Just incase any of you were interested how the French in the far distant future came to fully exploit the physics of plasma.
I thought IGÇÖd share a video made by ShoddyCast - explaining all the science for anyone here who uses any plasma based weaponry (IGÇÖm looking at you GÇ£Assault RifleGÇ¥).
I know this is all "Fallout" lore but SCIENCE!
That is all o7

I've only really read one source that even mentions that to be the case however who they were before the technological dark age had very little bearing on who they became after it.
The Gallente had entire dynasties of rulers (monarchies/nobility/etc) before they ever considered forming democracies. Even now groups within the Federation are allowed to completely and utter ignore democratic process and self regulate (like the Jin-Mei).

"Originally of French origin, although any direct similarities have long since vanished, Gallenteans value freedom and individual liberty above all else. The Gallente Federation is the only true democracy in New Eden."

It's just mindboggling to think that of all the Terrans, only the French would become involved in the Gallente Federation. I simply can't believe that. I would have thought that the Terrans would have collanised many planets, all in the name of Earthlings as one race. What, would ONLY the French go to colonise Gallente Prime? Can't believe that. That would suggest that the Caldari are also French. |

Who knows what CCP was smoking in the early days writing the lore of New Eden.

The Gallente Gallente (no I didn't repeat myself) are definitely French descendants. Same as the Caldari are Japanese. This is all a matter of lore of course, and each race has 3 different bloodlines which tend to mix it up somewhat, but the primary bloodline in each race tends to set the tone of the rest. |

That would suggest that the Caldari are also French. Read my earlier post - no not only the French were Gallente - there were other bloodlines that were involved, including a Japanese one that jumped ship from the Caldari when the Caldari, who were descended from Japanese were part of the Gallente Federation.
The Gallente pride themselves on being the only "true democracy" in New Eden, but to me it's pretty plain they are determined to inflict their "democracy" on as many others as they can... |

I'm not really sure I put much stock in who the original settlers were as after the collapse of the EVE Gate entirely new and separate cultural identities were formed based around their environments that radically diverged from anything previously known to them.
Nor do I find myself agreeing that any one bloodline sets the tone for a particular race with specific relation to a real world culture or people.
E.G- Gallente wise you have the dynastic Rouvenors, who ruled the nation of Garoum from the city Cylle [Caille in modern terms], the slave raids and sacrifices of the Mannar as well as the civil wars, the influences of Intaki spiritualism, and more divisively the tolerated caste system of the Jin-Mei.

The collapse of civilisation in New Eden after the closing of the EvE Gate was pretty much total as far as I can see. Based on that, the French heritage of the Gallente is probably pretty obscure at best. With so many other bloodlines involved over what I gather is thousands of years, after the re-emergence of civilisations in New Eden, I'm sure there are some very tenuous links with the past.
