There is no way to really "ruin" a tournament. The entire thing is based upon skill and skill alone so even if you were to stack mods, it doesn't mean you would win. In fact it could even mean you would be at a disadvantage. Because stacking mods gives you a boost in one area, but also a decrease in another area. For instance:

Stacking Armor Plates: Less mobility, which in a 1v1 Sentinel/Heavy tournament can mean the difference between life and death

Stacking myofibs: Less health/health regen, it also makes you an easy target whilst you are in the air, making you easier to kill.

Well I don't feel good about you trying sabotage tournaments, you probably won't even sabotage it but still just because you feel self righteous about it doesn't mean you should ruin it for all the people in the tournament. If you get beat by your parents on a daily basis, does that give you justification for beating up your own kids? Or does it mean it should serve as a reminder to be better than them.

But, this game has always been about the elite running off the rest. They were never better gamers or better players but they were very good at grouping and manipulating numbers . I love all , but unless the average playerbase is included in future events i'll do my best and more to ruin events
