Hey guys, myself and AiwhaBait are constantly working on a set of tournaments before the end of dust, certain tournaments are taking off and others are not. If youre interested in one of the tournaments I urge you to apply.
You can apply to 1 or more tournaments.
The rules are open to change, so if you have any input feel free to message myself or aiwhabait.

I need to update the roster list.

As someone who has taken the initiative to start competitions, how would you like to see tournaments/matches/duals etc handled in the new game?
What would you add, keep, or improve?

Hey there darth,
I have to admit I am enjoying hosting this event, going into chats and communicating with players and building up the tournament. But there is issues, communication if anything. I can post on the forums all day but if only 10% view the forums well only a tiny part get an idea of the event. Then you have the language barrier, which is rather dissapointing. Also starting the tournament is the hardest part of all. With districts etc.
So that being said Id say to keep tournaments based on a lobby shooter type. Being completely separate. Being able to apply to events on the game. Or at least giving people like myself the tools to do that. Private matchs? Temporary to the tournament, deciding kill count etc. I know it sounds similar to something like cod? But in the aspect of FPS shooter tournaments they do it well.
I want them to bring something me and bait are creating. For example players that are there for fun and then those that are there to win. Tournaments shouldn't give the vibe of. "Omg that guys applying??? I'll never win" myself and bait are going to bring fun over the top reactions to the games to give it that balance.
Also for the developers to get involved!! I know just that idea alone would be a huge hit.

Getting the word out is the challenge, you're saying?
Perhaps a dedicated forum section, like the Warroom, but focused on player run events.
Private battles go without saying, but they could have player made descriptions attached to them so those not invited could read about how to get involved in-game.
Is this along the right lines?

Is this along the right lines? definitely, I feel the best way to advertise this sort of stuff is definitely on the notification board.
A dedicated section would be good? But you'd still have the issue of needing people to go on the forums. Also many just use GD.
As for private games it should be very similar to corp battles. Using your contacts list you allow certain players to join.

Right. Please continue to bring tournament/private match ideas here, as it is easier to collect and link than Discord.
And speaking of linking, Inform those you know that have opinions on this subject that this is the time for their ideas.

Well, if the peanut gallery is permitted to comment on it, I'd like to see the following things IF the new game comes along:
Gambling- Good old placing a wager on a contestant or yourself against someone else, and getting paid on it.
Spectator mode- If you're going to make a tournament mode, add in the ability to watch but not the ability to interfere.
Queue- In the event you have people wanting to fight in the same arena, let them queue up and do above proposal.
Boxed in area- no redline, no area to retreat from or play dirty. Just you and your opponent. Well, maybe cover, but I'm speaking from a flyers perspective.
Also, sorry for not doing much in the way of preparing for the ADS tourney, Jade. I've been real busy with a lot of IRL stuff, and it honestly doesn't look like I can attend anytime soon. I would be asking Darth to attend the tourney if I was able to show.

Yeah I have to agree here, a betting system in this game is needed.to me the definition of merc is someone that works for the highest bid, on that note it gives me that thugish side. If an arena mode was to be created it could be viewed like twitch.
So let's say for example the arena is set, you have your announcer and 2 mercs. The mercs are announced. That battle will be possible to view. So instead of clicking on the battle and joining to fight. You join the battle and get to view. Bids are played etc.
I strive on the idea of a player organising it though. I just think we need more assistance and tools to do it ourselves.
Also I think the arena shouldn't be something all should be able to make. Unless many will have the attitude "oh I'll just make my own tournament" then you have like 200 tournaments and everyone spread out.
So on that note, loyalty rank or introduce rp points. This is me just spit balling but, bringing in something with lore like.
By being on the battlefield , fighting alongside fellow mercs you excelled to field commander, over the years you have become more wise then possible. You want to build to build the ultimate mercenaries so you build an arena and face mercs against eachother to see who earns the right in your corporation. That's just an idea haha.
Oh and derrith no worries! Life is way more important anyway. When ever you come back hit me up! I'm organising alot of tourneys atm so there is plenty of time
