I felt like trying this game out so I started downloading it. Will I regret it? I dunno, whatever.
If anyone else plays it can you explain in short some important things to know about the game? I'm curious.

From what I hear you will regret it.
During big battles you will be shot by invisible enemies because they just aren't rendered, progression is an extreme grind, one faction always stomping everything. players leaving left and right.

The lower TTK takes a couple days to get used to, also the movement is going to feel sluggish- do not give up it will kick in.
No you will not regret it. Its dust on steroid.
Turrets have ammo so dont waste shots.
You basically probably have the fire control from dust learn your optimal range and use terrain to your advantage. Its so much like dust strategy wise just way more intense.
Taking cover indoor during a bombing run.
Use Kotlyr (academy) til level 15 if feel you need more time in Kotlyr roll another alt.
Most guns are sidegrades with 2 in each faction that are upgrades, work on other skills first because the starting weapon is good enough.
Stay with the blob unless you a cloaker or have a vehicle solo is pretty hard.

1. very rare, mostly something noobs use as an excuse to why they died 2. and you call dust quick? plus this isn't a game based on gear like dust is 3. another thing noobs make excuses about 4. it has a dedicated community

If anyone else plays it can you explain in short some important things to know about the game? I'm curious. I heard Purple Faction is OP right now, like the Amarr they purple is always crying about the same theing about the red. sure if players wants he can just go to PS2 forums and share tears or he can play the game where he either has to defend or push depending on what faction is dominating your not always going to be the same success/fail the purple are just a bunch of cryhards and chest bangers, TR has the most support players, and NC are just, well NC.

I don't think you will regret it. Its not like it will make you rage or anything.
It is just boring as hell. Easily the most bored I can remember being during an FPS.
Sniping is kind of fun, but that is about it.
Unless you really like incredibly one sided battles, either stomped or stomping. Then maybe you will like it.

I'm not really a PS2 fan to be honest despite it having a pretty enjoyable vehicle model in place and that's mainly because I'm forced onto the EU servers away from most of the players I would usually play with resulting in me having had to play solo for most of my early career.
It would be good if I could get in on these battles but my TZ is almost the opposite of Europe so everyone is asleep when I would play and playing while I'm at work or sleeping.
It's garbage that I can't choose to get in on the US servers but c'est la vie.

Amarr is not OP and neither is Vanu.
PS4 or PC version?
I found PC version superior but PS4 is not that bad but not great either, the game is okay but i dunno i stopped playing it time ago, same thing really either move with blob or lose and tactically it is a bit meh.

Pros: -Great vehicle play. AV is sufficiently dangerous and tank vs. tank fights are amazing. Multi-seat vehicles are super fun when you find the right gunner(s). -3 sides to choose from. Choose based on personality and/or weapon style. -Being in a MAX suit feels like a Min Sentinel. I like the ability to mix and match it's two weapons to fight infantry, vehicles, or aircraft. -Loads of places to be. If the fight's too rough, spawn somewhere else on the continent. -While it's not quite as impressive as Dust's self-customization, it makes up in weapon attachments. So many sights to choose from along with things that affect recoil, silencers, etc.. -VR training. I spend a lot of time here. Test any weapon, attachment, turret, and equipment at no cost whatsoever.
Cons: -The grind is just as ridiculous as Dust. -TTK is frustratingly low. It's whoever shoots first, and good aim is more important than overall gungame. Having a good framerate is extremely important in gunfights. -The lower your graphics setting, the harder it is to see cloaked enemies. -This game is probably the origin of the term "zerg", which refers to having a massive unstoppable blob of people to bulldoze every outpost with little resistance. Kind of like what happens in a one-sided Ambush match, but in terms of capturing land. -The individual player doesn't have much effect on the battle. The strategy of the game is more so on a war scale. -Friendly fire. FRIENDLY. FIRE. Griefing is incredibly easy, along with noobs just being blueberries. Or red/purpleberries, in my case. -Hacking and cheating is a regular thing. I've reported a few dudes using aimbots and some crazy teleporting jazz.
