Guaranteed Valkyrie will fail because of the VR tie-in. I'll bet they didn't make it where they could easily untether it from the VR when VR goes down the drain for the overpriced gimmick that it is. Needless gimmickry, prohibitive entry cost and worst of all for people like me, motion sickness, will make VR a niche market. Watch as CCP spends two years to make a non-VR version of the game and by then momentum will be lost.
And before you say the motion sickness isn't that bad; I ask why would I make a big investment just to find out whether it will be the kind of motion I can get used to or not? I can't bet on that. There's a portion of the market flushed down the toilet.
Not to mention, I just don't think the game console is right for CCP. The way they like to constantly, slowely develop and the focus on long term commitment just foesn't work for the console crowd. DUST was already getting complaints from people about updates before CCP announced they would start releasing updates faster, then we discovered they couldn't add new content, then they had to comprimise for performance then we got the Rouge Wedding.
CCP works best on the freeform, non branded PC platform. No restrictions from or comprimises with other companies like Sony etc.
CCP logic GÇô We fix what doesn't need breaking.
