Now that we're talking about Trump....how could anyone vote for him in the US? No wonder there is an ubelievable percentage of people in the US that still claims there's no such "global warming" thing
Have you actually listened to what Trump has to say or are you just relaying an opinion of him that someone else relayed to you?

Yea no. Police response time at my parents house is around 20 minutes. Police response time at my house is around 30 minutes. While I've recently moved to central Florida, my parents still live in South Florida, around 30 miles south of Miami.
You know, the 305? Setting for many rap videos which advocate slangin' and bangin'? Yea, well unfortunately a large segment of the population down south seem to think those videos are a guide for how to live your life. The home invasions down there tend to get.......violent. And it doesn't matter if you are in a nice neighborhood or a sh*tty one.
This isn't me succumbing to propaganda either. I spent about 27 of my 31 years down south, and the (former) friends I have that stayed down there (who are still alive) are either gone on coke and pcp, trying to live some twisted lifestyle where they sell drugs and "ball out" (even though they would make more at a 40hr/$10 job), or always looking for a "come up" (robbery, most likely with violence).
A year or so back a few dudes ran up in a families house, assaulted the father, tied the family up, shot and killed the dog, and robbed them. At like 11:30 am on a weekday.
So long story short, I'm not a fan of people telling me "oh, guns are dangerous in the hands of lunatics, so you aren't allowed to defend your home and loved ones. The police will be there within the hour (let's hope you got that call off) so if you are still alive they will take down your information while acting like you are inconveniencing them, and from there........nothing, that's all they do. Good luck."
If you aren't from the states I'd suggest living here a bit before making ridiculous demands. Oh yea, and I'm not talking about living in Manhattan NY or some ski resort in Colorado. Try living in Homestead Florida, maybe Gary Indiana. I know California has plenty of neighborhoods and towns that are less than friendly.
Or take away guns. And knives. And cars, and bats and circular saws, power drills, anything sharp, anything heavy.
I'm sure this memory is a bit twisted in my head due to time but I seem to remember some dude in England going on a stabbing rampage, holding a crowd of people at bay with a kitchen knife or something silly.
*sigh*
Sorry, I'm sure the no gun thing nearly always comes from the heart, but this isn't the Emrald City or Candy Land over here. I hate to sound like a broken record, but how many hundreds if not thousands of tons of drugs, as well as illegal immigrants, and yes, weapons, make it over the US border every day? If you take away firearms from people who abide by the law, the people who are more than willing to break the law would have quite the upper hand I'd imagine.
And yes, I do own some firearms, and yes, they do not leave the home. Home defense. If I'm out and about I can more than likely escape trouble. If a pack of meth heads kick in my door, a call to the cops will help 0%. |

If a pack of meth heads kick in my door, a call to the cops will help 0%. The problem with guns and other objects(knives, hammers, cars etc) is that they are weapons not tools and are meant to kill. One bullet is worth a life time... Think about that, that's not something you want your average Joe rolling with.
With that said, here would be somethings that I believe need to happen.
Removal of all Automatic and Assault Arms Universal waiting periods and regulations(needed) Register sellers and owners Exams and backgrounds checks Proper arms training and safety course(for owner and other inhabitants of building)
I like that one bit you said about "people who abide by the law", those people should be the only ones allowed to carry such weapons. The right to bear arms is great and all till someone takes advantage of it and causes harm. I do feel though that their should be separate regulations for those who are just collectors but I don't know how that would work nicely.

I originally had a massive post to reply with lol, but it got way off track, so I figured I'd keep it simple.
#1- The problem with the term AR is that it originally stood for Armalite Rifle, the company that made it. The term "Assault Style Weapons" is vague, and really not a thing. An "AR" is an assault style weapon just like a grenade launcher or a machine gun is an assault style weapon. To the media and the general public AR now means and black, scary looking long gun. A .22 from Walmart with a wood stock is just as dangerous, and in all reality many "ARs" are simply crappy semi auto rifles (many are .22) with what is basically a body kit.
Here in Florida you cannot obtain an automatic weapon without a tax stamp thing, which costs a bunch of money ($20kish?) and subjects you to close government scrutiny (in theory) from that point on. Of course parts of a semi auto can be tinkered with making it auto, but law breakers will break the law unfortunately.
#2- Agree
#3- Agree
#4- Any legal firearm purchase should require a background check, and they do, outside of gunshows apparently. Which is stupid.
#5- Should be mandatory, and many gun owners do these things on their own.
A large part of the problem is the state of mental health care in our country, and parenting. No one's a bad parent, and when people shoot up schools and churches and malls it's always "oh he was such a nice guy, a good guy, a friendly guy, no one ever saw it coming, no one expected this from him ever". Bullsh*t. So all the actual bad people are able to keep their lunacy in check, but all these nice kids snap and mow down a school? I don't buy it. The fact that capital punishment has been privatized is also a major issue. There is little to no rehabilitation going on, the purpose of a prison should not be to turn a profit. That sh*t is insane. We are pumping out career criminal by the thousands everyday. Also gun violence plays awesome in the media, great for ratings. The networks make money, the price of ammo and firearms skyrockets. Money all around.
It's all crazy. I'd give up my guns today if someone in the EU had a room for rent and a job for me. I'd of course tell everyone I was Canadian, I feel like I'd be better off.
Edit: Australia would be cool too |

As for everything else and I strongly agree. There is just so much happening behind the scenes that shape the events we see day to day. Why not save some and move to Canada? Lol I myself will be moving to Alaska once I finish highschool, far far away from the American lifestyle.

I've thought about moving to Canada before. Got to visit Nova Scotia and Vancouver/Vancouver Island when I was younger, both places were absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately my parents are getting to that age where I don't want to be too far away, and at this point I don't see myself moving any further, at least not any time soon. Alaska seems pretty awesome too, I'd love to at least visit one day.
Alaska also kinda highlights another quirk in the gun debate. A person living in Alaska is more than likely going to have different views on the need/uses of firearms than say a person living in Los Angeles, or NYC. |
