Void Echo here (One of my many alts), Closed Beta Vet (Not that it matters anymore) making one last thread to say both goodbye and thanks for all the memories.
Back in 2012-2013 (I don't really remember, it was a long time ago), I was rummaging through PlayStation home, I found this cool area called the Even Horizon, so I decided to visit. I got to know the surroundings and even watched all 4 of the videos on that little briefing room, then I noticed everyone in a certain area and went to check it out. There was a game called "Slayer" that was offering some keys to early access of a new game, I went ahead and played for almost 2 hours before finally activating my key and I see for the fist time the game that I would love for a few years down the future, Dust 514. I downloaded and installed immediately just to see what it looked like, behold the character creation screen, Minmitar, Caldari, Gallente or Amarr. Which one should I chose? I read through each of the descriptions and decided to go Gallente. Race: Gallente, Blood line: Gallente: name: Void Echo.
I opened into a room, its greenish blue, somewhat closed with various stations here and there, "Cool" I thought. I went ahead and opened what looked like a start menu, found the battle entrance and opened it, went into battle 1 minute later. "HOLY ******* ****!!!!!!!!!" was my first reaction, keep in mind that before I found Dust 514 I was solely a COD player and longed for playstation to have its own Halo type game: Sifi/Space/Future/non-earth focused.
The battle ended about 10 minutes later and I don't remember the score, I don't know why but I logged off and didn't return until a month later, during the Chromosome build, what many of us old characters say is the absolute best build Dust has ever seen (our Golden Age), by then I had almost 10 million SP, which at that time was enough to either completely skill into infantry or vehicles. I chose to go Tanker style cause I was tired of the infantry only games I was playing and wanted to try something new, immediately I got the handle of the large railgun and was recruited by someone named XxGeneral XxShots who told me the backstory of this game and introduced me to the EVE online, the game this is meant to be connected with, and how him, me and a few other players had the opportunity to build an actual empire that expanded into both games at the same time. I was immediately sold to his side and formed my own corporation according to this plan of his, Umbrella Corp- Void State, it was the very first player corp I had ever been part of and it was mine, I felt excited at what we were doing. About a week later he was joining all the corps under one, mine included and before the month was over we were all under Umbrella Project. We were almost unstoppable in the corp battles we took part in, the only guys we couldn't beat were the Imperfects and the corps that were rivaled against them. Eventually turmoil went up the chain of command and Umbrella imploded and reformed into Project 9, by that time all of us had gathered enough reputation that we were recognizable in battle, I'm proud to say that I was one of the best tankers in the game at that time. Then the Caldari Prime invasion happened, the first even Dust had, I immediately joined the Gallente side and started tearing the Caldari a new ass hole, unfortunately we didn't win and had to retreat off the planet. about a month after, Project 9 imploded and we formed A.I, some old characters referred to us as "Anti Imperfects" cause apparently general was bragging about how we were formed specifically to take down the imperfects, but it never happened.
About a month down the line, general shots went inactive and me along with 2 other players took charge and formed an alliance with 2 other corporations, things were going very good for us, starting up our EVE connections and such, until shots came back and went power hungry and destroyed everything we built up because it wasn't how he wanted things to go. He disappeared afterwards and we all went to the Negative feeback alliance when open beta began and then official release. Doug Ugly got us all into Internal Error, the front line corp. Then the Wars started.

I participated in about 3 of the major wars by the time December ended but Negative Feedback had collapsed and everyone moved over to Planet Side 2 and other games, one of my old connections introduced me to a rising corp that had potential, so I joined. But 2 months down the road, leadership became **** and I left to form 3 of my won corps, none of which went anywhere cause real life stuff was happening and I then went into hiding for about a year.
I came back and formed Helix Order, got some friends from random squads to join and we were ready to buil up, we sounded like an atheist religion (if that's possible) so we reformed into Helix Terrestrial Operations LLC to troll Capital Acquisitions LLC and began our PC journey, that lasted about 2 months before we reformed into Helix Evolution I.W.C. it was great for a while, we had several alliances that thought they were gods and wanted to treat us like slaves, so we went our way but called in back up from corps that we had good and strong connecitons with.
We got a single district on Aeditide 5 that we kept for almost 2 months, a new corp formed calling themselves Vader's-Fist and went straight after us cause I questioned their logic in the forums lol, we held up for about a month before they took the district by cloning us out. After that we all started going inactive. We had fun time and hard times, and I'm thankful for knowing them, Treyarch Troll, Hemi1 Charger, Leviticus Exoduse, Chase Modesti, Bud MACK, Merissa The Escomo, Francis Philips, thanks you guys.
I understand CCP's decision to leave consoles but unfortunately that leaves me along with many others out of the reach. No a lot of us are trying to find new games that will fill what Dust will leave behind.
All in all, its been a fun 4-5 years, I'm glad to be part of the history of Dust 514, the impacts iv made, the friends and enemies I made. Now its time to hang up the gun and return to the Void I came from.

There was a lot of potential going everywhere and I was just happy to be part of our history. I wish I couldv gotten closer to the bigger names but oh well, at least I got the memories along with some pics on Facebook over my best scores I had with N-F.
All in all, I had a good run for the time I was here, starting out as a tanker, quickly becoming one of the top 5 rail tankers in dust until uprising 1.7, fighting with and against all the big powers, laughing and yelling at the screen when random **** happened, the events that took place. I'm gonna miss it all.
But I really just want my name to remembered in history. Somehow not be forgotten when this all goes to PC. |
