Even the newest of computers can not even come close to making use of a true 1 Gbps connection. On the plus side you will see a difference if you have about 20 5ghz enabled devices in your house on an industrial grade router.

For colleges/Universities and less educational industries that have a butt load of computers, this would be pretty damn useful... When I was in college the feckin internet struggled like hell because of the mass of people using Myspace... Yes it's been a long time since Myspace was popular.
