I'm junk at free sculpting. What I really need is a 3D render of the models. From there, you print a papakura model, and there are a variety of ways to make the molds from there.
Any chance CCP might be willing to make the models available to the community? The game is going away for a while, but I wouldn't mind tiny Min-logi on my desk repping my ancient computer, or a helmet for next Halloween.
Alternately, if there are any skilled 3D artists out there, I'd be happy to compile the files and post them somewhere for the community to use.
Helmets are my priority, followed by weapons and equipment, and finally the armor, but I'll take what I can get.
Just a thought. Any input is appreciated! |

Heck, I want to make an entire dropsuit. It'd look so cool at fanfest.

For sure, that's the ultimate goal. I just figured on many of the suits, the most intricate parts are the helmets (although thinking about it, the whole Min suit is pretty complex - thanks duct tape) |

I would definitely get a 3d printed dropsuit, although I'm not sure exactly which one I'd get. Caldari Logi with rep tool maybe?
I currently own a 3d printed Caldari scout, but I can't find it. Damn Cloaks

There isn't any models around atm apart from a pretty cool one of the Warbarge on Thingiverse. Your best bet is to wait until it moves to PC because there are several programs that will extract a workable model from there. The resolution may not be brilliant but you could run it through a pep converter and fill/sand it or give it to a 3d modeller and have them use that as a base reference to get sizing and shape done correctly.
I was getting a Scramble rifle made for my 3D printer but then when i found was moving to PC decdied to hold off in order to get a good base file.
We have a good selection of gun from Destiny on our FB page though :D
Please fix my C-II hitpoints!! Jesus and I love you :)

Okay, that's good to know. I suppose they'll use many of the current models. I'm playing with Blender at the moment, so maybe I'll try my hand at a one of the simpler-looking weapons. You've got some cool stuff on your FB page. |

Man, I've been playing with the Minni helmet for two days in Blender and it's really cool, but it'll take a lot of work to get right. Turns out that beautiful reference image where you see a close up of the helmet from all four sides is actually a tiny bit off from one image to another. When I get it a little farther maybe I'll post the file here and someone else can take a crack at it. |

If anything, you can expect only the two results:
1. CCP makes the cosplay gear themselves, and sells it to you and it's typical astronomical price to a select few.
2. CCP sells you the plans and designs at it's typical overpriced retail to a select few.
They don't give anything way for free, certainly not when there is a possible ROI on it. They are rather well versed in the short-term flash-sale of commodities department. Anything the community wants, they try to sell. Anything the community doesn't want, they try to sell.
I can't wait to be sold tickets to fanfest and get told about all the stuff I can buy the following year :)
More sad is the people who buy it. |
