Hello everyone. Maken Tosch here.
Yesterday I sent out a mail to Dust University letting everyone know that I am putting together a plan for an lecture that will feel more like an open forum, This will have the feel of a hot topic lecture since it will mainly be about the future of Dust 514 going into the PC platform. It's a good time for Eve Online and Dust players to get together and have a fun chat about anything from putting together a PC or looking for bargain rigs to talking about how we all feel about this announcement and what CCP will likely do next moving forward. It's a great time to talk about the past. How things were, what mistakes were made, what CCP could have done, our accomplishments as individuals and as a corp, the salvage operation that CCP Rattati and his team had to do, and so on.
It's ok to get a little emotional considering what's going on, but please remember to keep that PC-vs-Console chest beating checked out at the door as I will have none of that nonsense in my lectures. Here in my lecture or open forum, we are not PC gamers and we are not console gamers. We are the people of New Eden. We are all family. Dust players were already family the moment Dust came to fruition and the Eve Online players are happy to see you finally join us. Contrary to popular belief, Eve Online players did not want Dust to die. You will find that New Eden is full of great people and the community is very strong and helpful even when we suffer the darkest of times.
So I look forward to seeing you all at the the open forum lecture and come together as a family despite the PC/console differences. It's time to bridge that gap between platforms and clear out any misconceptions we have.

Yeah. How we feel about this. The forums may help with that, but often times we just feel like saying it out loud rather than just taking our time typing angrily on our keyboards.

I'll try to jump in for a bit. I'd love to give some build advice to anyone looking to get a PC for the new game.
Although, it may not be a good time to go jumping into a PC build right now. There are probably going to be some major GPU and CPU releases around Q3-ish this year from AMD, and probably some equivalent GPUs from nVidia a bit later.
Any PC build advice given now may change dramatically in the coming months as more info surfaces, but it still doesn't hurt to start planning. |

I have a lot of PC related questions I would rather address with someone live as opposed to text, and I also would like to remain close to whatever this new thing coming our way in the next few years is. At the moment it is definitely not a certainty that I will have a PC when the time comes, but I blew my wad after FF14. Dust dying is what I wanted, for various reasons (mostly spite), and now that there is an expiration date I can finally let a lot of negativity go. |
