Wow, to say this is your favourite game.
Now that's just sad. It isn't even in my top 50, but I still spent the most time playing this game.
Mainly due to an addictive neurological trigger that made me believe if I didn't keep playing I would miss out on something.
But you take the cake for being a POVO

It's 4 months. And many reasons. Because some poor chaps might of just bought Aurum yesterday. Because a lot of people may have been hoarding gear and need to get rid of it. Because it's generally not cool to yank the plug with no warning.

It never mattered anyway....at any point. Its a game. Play it. I will enjoy the three months, and most other players will enjoy it as well. There was never a point to Dust except to entertain. You are given 3 more months of free entertainment that you can either take or leave. So you can your own plug any time. |

Pretty much this.
It's completely inappropriate to just shut it all down almost as soon as you put in the cash in the game. At least CCP has the courtesy to halt all sales of merc packs and give us a deadline.

If they pulled the plug when customers just paid for something 22 hours ago then thats fraud.
Waiting a few months then pulling the plug avoids the class action lawsuits by gamers wanting cash from CCP.
Not that it matters with most on PS4 already.

This is just nihilism that doesn't go out that far. You could have said on the first day "what's the point; the game is going to be gone in 15 years?" You could say the same thing about anything. "What's the point of X; it'll be gone in a billion years?" Do you know why it matters?
Because it is all we have left.
The fun and enjoyment you can have from shooting that dirty Gallente in the face is still there. Your glee from hate mail when you play a Myrofibril Assault is still there. Laughing uncontrollably as you see an ADS run right into an RDV is still there. Hell, those moments are even better now because you have nothing left to worry about. "ISK Positive" officially doesn't matter anymore. "KDA" officially doesn't matter, not that it ever did.
I know nihilism becomes easy once the finish line is in sight but the "matters" are the same they were a week ago.
