The concept in itself is nice but by the time it's release PS4 will be in the same stage of it's life cycle as PS3 was when Dust 514 was released.
At this point it would make much more sense to tell CCP to release the next Dust 514 thing for the PS5

Why it is stupid to make Dust 514-2 for the PS4
Answer - Because they failed to make it work on the PS3, upgrading the hardware will not improve the staff

Basically CCP has one last chance to make this game worth being taken seriously. If they can make it work on PC, they could potentially be on PS5 for launch day. That would help them a lot, if and only if they can bring this game up to speed on the PC.

I wonder when we started measuring the ps4's life cycle in minutes? Its not that old. The hardware maybe. But look what dust is on now. It loads that all that on the cruddy ps3 hardware already somehow. I dunno where you got your figures but the current generation of consoles are likened to early 20 year olds.
Every time I hear this "the ps4 is already old" I just have to lol at the stupidity.
Consoles are rugged little fckers designed to last long and play the games without need of a single extra part or upgrade.
Hell,I'm playing my Xbox 360 right now. The disc drive is loud due to age but its not stuttering or doing wonky things. And its not even one of the slim ones. Its a plain chunky white 360 with a final fantasy XIII 250gb hard drive. Its plays all my games perfectly fine.

And on PC you can just easily switch out a part or tune down the graphics and continue like nothing happened at all. Games made for longevity like Eve Online or Dust are no games for a closed system which never changes like consoles.
Dust for PS4? Sure, that might work for another 2 or 3 years, but at some point you would need to go to the next console. On PC you just keep going while adding new and more demanding technology.
Because the thing is... consoles are not made to last. Quite the contrary. After all Sony and co want to sell newer consoles.
