It's pay-to-progress-faster, which leads to higher chances of winning. It's inderect, so I've never had a problem with it.
You pay to get better stuff sooner. This makes you better than if you didn't spend money, but does not make you superior in the overall meta compared to non-paying players at the given moment. There are still people with equivalent stuff without paying money. Paying players got it sooner than they normally would have, and this is on an individual basis.
Why is this still a discussion after all this time?

Welp, the officer spam is gonna be real.
Looks like I'll be left behind, however. No decent gaming PC. :(

Why is this still a discussion after all this time? Winning individual matches in this game does not matter. The whole point in New Eden is to acquire more ISK and assets than your peers. AURUM does that. However, the progression in this game by use of cash is always pay-to-win. Because, the time difference is so great that is becomes untouchable. AURUM accelerates the processes by 120,000% overall for all in-game progession... that's not "sooner".
If winning = stockpiling assets, then yes, it's 100% pay-to-win. So we're both right I guess.
