Ok, so, mind you it may not be much help to try hard at this point. But I have the utmost respect for all of the Devs that spent time to make Dust as good as they could, and I really miss it. As a 16 year old boy with no job at the moment, I don't have the income too keep the connection to EVE Online past the scope uploads on youtube, lol. EVE Online is a great game. But my place as Ce'ell Stryfe is not to be a pilot scouring the Galaxy looking for danger around every parsec. My place in the EVE Universe is as an infantryman. I spent a good two years falling in love with the game. I used it too escape real world problems that I had. I made good friends, the comradery in the game was like no other. It was... well.... One of my absolute favorites. I would trade Call of Duty and other similar online games for Dust in a hear beat. I'm not the only one who would do it either. I know for a fact that i'm not the only one who has felt this way, and I know i'm not the only one in my situation. I do very well believe that I speak for all former Dust players, if not all of them, when I say that we would love to have the game back. I am aware, however, that CCP puts their games through an almost seemingly annoying test to see if the idea of the game is even worth it. I don't quite know exactly how long that takes and I understand that it may be a while. But we haven't heard anything on Project Nova for months. I feel kinda cheated. There was a whole lotta hype when it was a demo at fanfest, and I saw the videos and I was IMPRESSED! lol. But all this aside, I ask, on Behalf of all Dust players, I so humbly ask that if Nova doesn't make it, you please let us have Dust back. |

Yeah I understand your frustration. I am practically guessing we will have to wait until Project Nova MIGHT be released. Needless to say I have had conversations and i'm not totally sure that all is lost. in the mean time what would you guys all think about forming an 'outfit' or in other words a corporation or clan on Planetside 2 or joining my clan on warframe? I think it would be a great idea to keep fellow Dusters together and to keep some of our battlefield skills sharp. if you'd like I can make a new E-mail specifically for this purpose.

You wanna know the honest truth, I don't think they're done with it entirely. As one our character info and corporation info is still in the EVE database, and two, Dust is still in the store for the ps3. Anyone else find that last part a bit out of place? |

See I understand that Dust 514 is CCP's franchise. Techniclaly they have no real obligation to tell us what they are planning to do with THEIR stuff. But I think I can speak for everyone when I say that it's really not cool what they did. But while I haven't given up just quite yet, I think that a serious request too whoever was in charge of dust should be made. It seems as if most if not anyone can do anything. so take the request to the CEO himself. that's my logic at this point. and while like I said it is THEIR franchise and they can do what they will with it, I don't think that whoever shut the servers off actually thought that this is what us as the gamers wanted.
Regardless of all the complaining, which mind you I know for a fact was annoying, It could be that they just temporarily took the game down. Think about it. Project Nova just so happens to be a better, more well built version of Dust. If our info for our characters, too include the corporations, is still on the EVE server. they have plans to eventually implement that into the game. Which essentially is to say, that after they get the kinks worked out with the gameplay, which... Is probably what they are doing now, with the hopeful release of a public demo, so we can help out with a peer editing type system, everything could be released with the same connection as Dust had. only more connected than Dust was.
Let's just hope, fellow mercs, that this speculation is somewhat correct. I just wish I had some kind of conformation, as I know the rest of you do to.
In the mean time. who would be interested in playing Planetside 2 together to keep our skills sharp for the future combat on the ground of New Eden. If not that than at least warframe, that's always fun too. lol. |

So there's still a list in EVE for infantry on the public chat channel... after all this time. ALL of our info can be found in EVE...
I'm going insane trying to figure out why it's still there.... Anyone have any ideas on this? |

I wander.... how many of our fellow Dusters still actually try to launch the game or still have it in our consoles.... And if we do, is CCP laughing at us ? I think it'd be kinda funny really. |

Dear CCP, us on behalf of the Dust 514 community wish to express our concerns as Project Nova was not mentioned during this most recent fanfest. We understand that the company may want to go in a different direction, but you did kinda promise us something to make up for Dust. If not a promise then i don't know what.
But also something to notice. CCP's fanbase has dropped tremendously after the closing of Dust, and it seems it may still be falling. I personally enjoy EVE Online but I think we can all agree that we'd enjoy having an FPS again. We miss it all so much. -thanks, regards Ce'ell Stryfe |

Project Nova is still very much alive and in the works, their CEO, CCP Hellmar I think, said that he was committed to the upbringing of Project Nova.
They want too make sure that it is a solid game before they give out any more info on it. they say there is no specific release date and that they will inform us when they are ready. They also contemplate a potential story mode, or solo mode, easier Skill tree, and the potential for the experimental 46 player matches.
However. They do say that it may or may not be free to play. |

I agree with what you have too say on this, as being able to trade was an incredible feature. i wouldn't think that they would get rid of that.
Also note that all of our character information and corporation information are still on the EVE database, if not obvious. while playing EVE, however, there is still a chat channel open to infantry. You are not able too message your character, but you can add them with whatever standing you wish. So I think, in my opinion of course, not based on fact, that we will be able too keep our characters and their corporations. while we may lose our gear, I'm ok with that. I would love to play as Ce'ell again. Also take into account that Dust 514 is still in the PSN Marketplace online and on the PS3, so in theory Project Nova may be on the PS4 as well as PC, but that's only theory
There is speculation that maps in this game will be balanced between space stations, and surface combat. I would genuinely enjoy that.
As for a projected release date they say it could be late 2017 to sometime in 2018.
I also hear a speculation of more planets being open too us, unlike being limited to only planets within the four empires and the Molten Heath. While playing EVE I noticed that outside of NPC controlled space ( Caldari, Gallente, Minmitar, Amarr) there were planets with lights on them, if you look into the shadow side of the planet, there are obviously vast cities on them. perhaps we'll see more city and not just depots and docking stations?

Well regardless of what they choose to do i'm still happy with the fact that they are committed to the idea of Nova. I really look forward to seeing us all back in action. Besides, i'm tired of flying though the vastness of space, lol. If they do let us keep our corporations and character names, the feel free too hit me up. I'd like to fight with you some time. My corporation wouldn't hurt too have some new people in it either. lol. o7

* Long sigh* reminiscing through old memories. is nice. but on a serious note, if there are tanks, they shouldn't be able to shoot over the battlefield and get a pinpoint shot on. lol.

Unfortunately no, however*** a friend of mine has created a petition in hopes that we will get a demo of Nova using Dust to generate hype and promote Nova. This will give former Dusters the chance to re-sharpen their skills on the grounds of New Eden and give new players the chance to gain standing themselves ( temporarily for everyone of course ).
Also, Though this may be alot to ask we would like too ask that when Nova is released, previous Dust players have their names, and corporations re-instated too them. Please take these into consideration.

Hey, o7 all. Thank you Juwla for the prompt replies to everyone and hopefully these all add insight too those at CCP. Still no new info on anything. We haven't really heard anything since Hellmar's ( apologies if misspelled) statement of inquiry as to wether or not they are comitted, which they are. If it's still not released this year, let's see what they say in the future or perhaps at the next fanfest? Regardless I wish everyone the best in their trials and tribulations. May our community live on! o7

Quick update, supposedly they're gonna have free exclusive skins for Dust 514 veterans if they release. Also, if you guys are at all interested, I'm writing a fan fiction book, if you'd like your character mentioned please let me know, the more the marrier. Just a heads up, all corporations, locations, and characters are kept as accurate as possible, but history is different. It's more about interaction with the characters than story at the moment. I may go back and change it, Not sure. However, I'm hoping when it's ready for release you guys will enjoy the read.
