SO i have recently tried to get into heavies but im getting smashed compared to when I use something like Assualt. Part of it is when i go against a myofib assault I can't keep my aim on them and they spam grenades at me. As an assault though I can just keep range hit them off before they get to me.
when i use a forge it seems swarms just do more DPS then a forge gun and when I use a HMG heavy I can't get the enemies to be close enough to kill or they use grenades around cover. Either way I feel like im doing something wrong.
You guys got tips or tricks maybe even some fits?

The main issue when dealing with a jumpy fit, as a Heavy, is our slow speed. Rather than trying to keep up, which is impossible, try predicting their landing point. Once they go up, there's only so much control they have on where they land, so cook a grenade and put it roughly where you think they'll land.
If being pelted with explosives is an issue for you, I'd highly recommend making the upgrade to Sentinel, since Sentinels gain 5% explosive resistance per skill level.
What a Forge might lack in DPS (and I believe that the Swarm is actually the inferior one, DPS wise, once flight time is factored in) it gains in engagement range, ammo, Alpha damage, shot speed and the ability to terrify Dropship and HAV pilots. With a Forge, as with all AV, try to aim for a weak point and try not to engage solo unless you have either surprise or elevation to your advantage.
High RoF weapons like the HMG suffer from hit detection issues, which cuts their DPS considerably. If you plan to use a HMG, I recommend carrying Flux grenades for their shields. HMG works best around objectives or inside buildings, so if you're in the open, go with either the Assault HMG or getting REAL good with the Forge because the HMG just doesn't work in open ground.
Feel free to stop by the Bastion, the link's in the post above. It's a thread for Sentinel and Heavy discussion.

You guys got tips or tricks maybe even some fits? You are not teaming up with a good logi. You NEED a logi.
My fit when staying with Heavies is
Needle
CORE FOCUSED repair tool
Scanner
Hive maybe, MAYBE an Uplink, although Uplink need high PG so I prefer Hives.
I don't have my PS3 right now, but I can Logi for you when I get it back. I'm one of the top logis in DUST. Top killer? No, but definitely a great Logi.
You'll need to stack a lot of Armour, and you need to position yourself in places to where you logi can't get flanked, or is in the line of fire. Also, look at your recovery rate when being repaired while taking damage. Take enough concentrated fire, and even the repair tool won't be enough to keep your health maintained.
Normally if I'm supporting heavies they get high K/Ds, and they won't die much if at all. Problem will be against smarter players, the vets will come after me for my lower HP is the weaklink in all this.

If you feel like you're range-limited by the HMG, try the Assault HMG. It seems to hit harder even around 45m where a lot of your assaults will orbit, and you'll be able to do significant damage to vehicles (keep dropships away, kill MLT tanks, swat jeeps).
Don't forget that the HMG is a projectile weapon, so pairing it with Flux grenades works wonders.
Don't be afraid to use a Kinetic Catalyzer to give you additional speed, but go big with ADV or better, for results.

Problem will be against smarter players, the vets will come after me for my lower HP is the weaklink in all this. actually if I am in my storms I can out heal shotguns when on triple reps so maybe try getting multiple logis and keep them alive another thing is that two of the best sentinels are armor stacked am sents as they can tank a plc or large railgun(tank the installs were buffed to proto so you will need to stack proto plates to tank that) also dmg mods will make them OHK you but if you have good reps and keep your shields up you can easily kill proto tanks and it will **** em off a lot
