I spent a few minutes today mercilessly biomassing poor mercenaries who just started their career so I could get one in the Best CorpGäó. Fortunately for me, the process of deleting the unworthy meatsacks was as simple as pressing square and then X.
Soon I was reunited with my bottomless supply of the finest boosters in the cluster.
But wait. WAIT A MINUTE.
THIS IS A BAD THING. (not my access to drugs shut up)
I can DELETE ANY OF MY CHARACTERS IN 10 SECONDS FLAT WITH THE PRESS OF TWO BUTTONS.
In EVE Online, attempting to delete your character results in the game client telling you to go **** off for 10 hours. Your character is placed in lockdown, you cannot permanently delete him until 10 hours have passed. You cannot play as him unless you abort the countdown, which you can do at any time, and which will reset the timer at 10 hours next time you try.
Once the countdown reaches zero, you are allowed one last chance to confirm or abort the deletion with big scary letters telling you the gravity of the situation.
Now I'm hoping this is just an anomaly for the test client, a convenience for testing something related to new characters, and I am hoping you are already well aware of this and there will be a bigger safety net in the live version of the game.
If not, here is your friendly reminder to save you from hundreds of tear filled support emails from silly customers who weren't paying attention to what they were doing.
Also, a slightly lesser but still important issue: Dust 514 characters are not nearly as satisfying to delete as EVE Online characters. This must be rectified. |

Never tried to delete my 1 and only character so I never knew about this, but I would rather like there to be a more involved process to deleting. Perhaps even typing the word DELETE in a text box after selection. Idk what I'm capable of when I come home and play Dust drunk.  |
