Anything less than complex Kin Cat isn't worth it, give yourself an extra plate or reps, same with the shield regulator(low slot) |

Legit question: why isn't it worth it? Is this just gear snobbery or is there #maths? I am still very new and not a fitting savant, so any more specific info would be enlightening.

Low tier shield regs and kincats are pretty much wasting a slot. Even with V skill bonus'.
Edit: you would have to double to get a useful effect, by then, even a single adv would do you better, slot/effect efficiency wise.

Edit: and the pro versions of these jump to such a useful amount, it makes them worth squeezing as that one pro module.
How is not rep better than poor rep? 39hps is 10-15% of my shield total with current skills ( I am new and have L5 in almost nothing ). So all I have to do is find cover for a few seconds to get back to full health and then pop back out. What's the downside?
Sorry, but this is a "New Player Experience" post. I'm a new player. "Complex or gtfo" is not valid or thought out feedback for fitting advice. So unless you guys have some maths to point to to say that the benefit of a certain mod isn't worth using until you can use a proto version of it, it's very hard to take the input seriously.

Its alright man lots of people here forget that new people actually play and are posting here. Most of the time the things said are trying to help even though you might not want to hear it. Fittings on this game are infinite! That's what made the game what it is, give stuff a go and if it sucks for you change it. What works for one may be garbage for you.

Your fit could be useful for some of those bigger maps, where you have to run 200m to get anywhere. But if your on a map/area that's a little more confined, I would recommend switching the biotics out for more armor/requlators. The MinAss's base speed and stamina is sufficient enough for most maps.
Keep in mind though the MinAss is probably the most versatile suit, and literally everyone I've met/seen using it, runs it differently. It's just one of those suits where you have to experiment with to see what works for you.
Here's the APEX Nomad fit. It's pretty good for a beginner MinAss:
1x Damage Mod 1x Shield Recharger 2x Shield Extender
1x Shield Regulator 2x Reactive Plates 1x Kinetic Catalyzer
Ps: Imo, basic shield mods are in a poor place balance wise. The jump in quality from basic to advanced feels extreme as ****.
I don't like two-legged things.
