It's not always the game's fault...maybe you should check your internet connection? 
BTW my connection gets choppy aswell, for example, when I play world of tanks on my PC, which is placed right next to my PS3, on the same table as my PS2.

Not in my case... When I get lag, I just move the PS3 a bit and there's no more lag. It's the connection, not dust.
