Ghosts Chance wrote:so i thought i may as well actually turn on my ps3 and play some dust rather than just troll the forums and HOLY CRAP
after 2 10 minuite timeouts trying to find a game i get put into waiting for deployment... for 5 minuites only for it to never start the game and start searching for battle again
i FINALLY get into battle after a few more dropped lobbys and halfway through it kicks me from PSN (note that my ps3 was still fully connected to PSN when this happened...)
then i try again only to be put into 5 more failed lobbys where the game never starts....
then i finally get into a game and it says neither team has players... then it sais team 1 has 2 players team two has -15439 players....... thats right.... negative. then it boots me back to merc quarters.
should i stop or just keep trying? I have developed a few rules of thumb in my short time actively playing:
1. Regardless of the estimated time to search for a battle, I restart after 30 seconds 2. If I've been waiting for a deployment to start for more than about 10 seconds, I restart the search 3. If I'm dumped into a half-finished game and blue is losing, I leave the battle 4. If I'm killed by someone early in the battle that is running anything more than ADV, I leave the battle 5. If I race to first hack the objective in a dom and I'm killed because there are no blues anywhere near to defend, I leave the battle
I've learnt to not waste my time with this game. I don't sit endlessly waiting for a search or deployment, even in FW - there is definitely something wrong with matchmaking and I don't allow whatever the problem is to delay me. I leave more battles now than I play and the few battles I actually finish are worth playing, because I eliminate all the others by leaving. I won't be cannon fodder for stompers, and I won't fight someone else's battle because they followed the same sort of rules as I do. I will fight a battle from the start, against players who aren't out to just use I-win buttons on everyone else.
If, following these rules, I have not had a decent battle in about a half hour, I turn off the PS3 and do something else, and come back much later on when a different part of the world will be active. |

wtf CCP Yes.
But my response is not exactly calm. I leave. I suppose that keeps me calm. :) |

wtf CCP Stockholm syndrome. This is the worst part of it - all the problems that we're having, most of them absolutely unacceptable, and CCP still does not comment.
As I have said often enough, I believe CCP wants this game to die by attrition. |

TooMany Names AlreadyTaken wrote:It seems it's something with the American server... (are you on NA server?) I'm on EU and pubs work normally for me. I can't get a decent game on my own server (Asian) so I usually connect to the American server, but the problems that has are leading me to think the European server is better. I'm connecting to that now. |
