TL:DR - Take the chip off of your shoulder. Under Rattati, CCP Shanghai has shown their commitment to DUST. This is not "CCP as a company" or even "Old CCP" we're dealing with, so we should stop responding that way.
For the record, I'm a bitter vet (Been here since E3). I'm not saying I'm the oldest DUST player, nor the most experienced. That statement is just to say that I've been here long enough, and put enough time and money into this game, that I truly want more information on dust's future.
That being said, I think that there are too many people on the "CCP hates Dust" hype train in GD. Yes, I understand that it has been three months since the last Dev update. I too would like more information (or at least interaction) between the shanghai team, the CPM and us. But whatever the reason for this current bout of silence, the last thing that I question is Rattati, Frame, or the rest of the shanghai team's loyalty to Dust.
People seem to forget that, just two years ago, the head of DUST said that we'd no longer have client updates, and the VP of product development said that "Dust wasn't a great game" in interview. Since Ratatti has been in charge, we've seen substantial hot fixes, client updates, and more organization and transparency than all the information that had been provided to us prior.
Whether or not this should have been personal practice from the beginning is a non-issue to me, because we're not at the beginning anymore. We're three years in, with a small development team pushing really hard on a project that most of the company had given up on. DUST could die tomorrow and I would still respect the effort that Ratatti et al. has put in.
The forums are full of enough dreariness to make anyone want to stay off of them. I usually don't post because I don't have anything to complain about. But I saw the value in adding a drop of positive support to the bucket, so here I am.

Totally dude. that's the problem with today's generation. I mean 3 months of silence? That isn't THAT unprofessional. I mean the state of the game is complete, undeniable, unplayble utter sht, the worse state it's ever been in. But thats cool, this game is so awesome that i'll wait even 3 more months! |

dude CCP shanghai he been re-tasked to VR, they havnt even been working on dust for a few months now.
rattati did so well he got pulled from dust to another project as CCP always does.
its likely we will see less and less of rattati now as CCP constantly shifts him around to give every new project the rattati treatment.

It's not Rats fault, it's his management. They don't want to put more resources into this game.

I hear all video game developers working in china have been kidnapped by the government and are forced into slave labor to develop Chinese video games.

not rumor, truth, NDA isnt an ironclad thing.
plus its a repeated pattern for CCP, its happened time adn time again across all of their games. hell its what killed off WOD.
i pay attention to stupid little details.
plus remember last time a blackout like this happened? we learned the entire dev team got pulled from dust to create project leagion for 4-5 months prior losing us CCP logicloop in the process.
history repeats itself if you pay attention to the patterns, none of this is new behavior and EVERY time something like this has happened its all been caused by CCP redirecting staff to different projects.
after the failure of WOD and the struggles this game has had they want to laugh their new VR section on the best foot possable. and since dust is the stepchild and shanghai already developed it from the start and worked with everyone hes the obvious choice to pull for backup.
all the leacks that happened after the WOD failure gave us HUGE insight into the internal workings of CCP, its standard practice that every CCP employee works any project if nessessary, hence how we had foxfour whos an EvE dev not a dust one.

I am not sure many people even begin to blame CCP Shanghai.
CCP has shown horrible flaws in employee management on past projects as well as on Dust.
This iron curtain policy most likely came down from Reykjavik.
Hilmar has decided to put all the companies eggs in the VR basket and Dust is paying with the fact that even parts of CCP Shanghai are being moved to VR crap.
Really anyone that does blame the Shanghai team is sadly misinformed.
Too bad Shanghai will be the one to take most of the blame when CCP finally pulls the plug on this thing.

Lol. I was actually thinking about adding a section saying: "If you're going to be pessimistic, at least don't hop on the bandwagon. Its a disservice to people like DUST Fiend."

I wish I could claim to be the original bittervet but I'm sure I'm not. Well, there was probably no one on the forums as butthurt about original dropships as me, so who knows...maybe I am
