So I spawn into a game... Everything looks good, teams are even, doesn't appear to be any full squads, and it's a map I don't absolutely hate. Expecting a decent game... and then two people leave... Less than thirty seconds into the match and we've lost four/five people. Point is immediately capped and we're pushed back to our... redline? Well, that's normal and all, people leave, it happens, but I find out the hard way that this map's whopping two spawn points only maintains one that offers safety. The other allows the enemy to waltz into our spawn and freely murder everything that pops their heads in. Still not too bad... I've gotten worse... oh, wait... three tanks are camping all exits... one/two of which are proto I believe... lovely... fun fun fun...
I just don't get it... People leaving was never much of a problem before... or maybe other mercs were just thrown in and we never noticed, but now... One person goes poof and the rest of the match is a 7v15 where victory is unobtainable. This isn't even an uncommon occurrence though, it happens all the freakin' time. Why does it seem like so many people are leaving games lately? The matches appear balanced early on, I rarely ever see full proto squads running around killing everything, so... what gives?

Something has to be done to bring the competitive nature back into the game , I'm staring to think like some in incorporating incentives to help spice things up and also automatically kicking the lowest players off the enemy team until the numbers even out .
It doesn't help when you have players leaving your team and the enemy has a full team with two or three players with zero WP's and their at the bottom of the enemies team , why not loose the dead weight anyway ?
Just a thought but yeah , something needs to be done and yes ... I still see the proto and OFC squads , you were just blessed to not have to deal with it .

I don't know what you mean by my name being burnt, but yeah, I know some people corp hop a lot, but I pay attention to names in most matches. When I see someone doing good or a squad doing good, especially if they give me trouble in some memorable way, I tend to remember them.

Which corp are we talking about? I think G might have farmed Isk at times, well, farmed with militia tanks anyways, but I don't recall being in a corp that farmed Isk, least not that I was familiar with. And I'm not quite sure if you mean me personally in terms of Isk, or the alliance. I don't believe I recognize your name though, but I've been gone for the past seven months so I've forgotten a lot of old mercs I used to know.

Ah. I think I actually missed whatever event you're talking about. I remember spotting something on the forums awhile back, heard a few people got mad at HE, never did figure out why. Couple of clan members hid their tags, said they were getting harassed or something to that effect. Care to fill me in on your side of the story? I never did bother inquiring with Z about it, actually forgot about it until now, come to think of it.

I try to avoid lopsided matches where I'm in the team that's doing the stomping. And by lopsided, I mean we have far more players on my team than that of the opposing team (by like 3 or more). If I'm in such a team, I leave the match so that the smaller team has a better chance since now the bigger team just lost a player.
Now, if by any chance I'm in a team that is outnumbered, then I stick around and fight. Just recently, I finished a match where my team had only 4 or 5 players while the opposing team had like 13 players. I only died once apparently while managing the kill about 3 mercs. My third victim died in his tank as I ripped it open with a pair of 'Pyrus' Allotek Nova Knives on my Scout Mk.0. That's when I actually died because of the explosion of the tank. LOL. My team still lost but the kill made up for it. XD

Meh. You have a point.
Better players vs more players. Also teamwork. The thing was though that were were losing till we had like 25% mcc hp left. Only when I hacked the objective dos my team actually start to push and score many clones.

Good that we share the joke then
You represent the worst mentality in Dust, only staying in battles where your ego can't get bruised.
Most just fight, while you QQ stompers.. mercs like us also fight the stompers, finish uneven battles at a disadvantage and actually try to support the team for the win, you think it's ok to hop between them and be entitled to easy wins.
As long as CCP allow better gear to be used in Pubs, it will be. And as long as mercs can be killed with proto, they will also use it.
You are becoming popular for hatemails on SouthSidePhx, more so for *has left the battle* as soon as you see non-MLT
And you think that only fighting easy opposition makes you any different than a stomper |
