While it is true that a mouse gives far better precision when the game you're playing supports raw mouse input, it's also true that if you aren't used to a mouse, it won't give you much of an advantage.
If you kick ass with a controller, as long as a mouse doesn't get raw input in this game, you'll not be disadvantaged.
As far as the OP, I would LOVE it if we could select Districts again for all forms of play. Unfortunately that would have the side effect of eliminating matchmaking, which is something this community is very insistent is essential to the game.

Actually it wouldn't affect match making too much, unless you get to decide which side you're on. It would actually also solve the 8vs16/joining a match that's about to end issue, if you could see how far along a match is from the battlefinder.

Well that old system just put you in matches as people jumped in, just like FW does right now. It didn't matchmake anyone.

AR was the meta?
AR was the default.
It was everywhere because it was the only assault weapon.
And about 70% of AR users back then had Militia at best.

In Killzone it doesn't exist at all, but there is a big difference in gameplay. Killzone has much larger character models and hitboxes, much slower movement and much less HP.
Dust models are small, except the Heavy, and movement far too quick. AA is needed for this game. Those poor heavies tho :(
This is a positive and endearing message brought to you by Himi.

Mobius is right. There was no such thing as matchmaking back then.
Of course, keep in mind that back then we never had any other game mode available other than Skirmish 1.0 and there were no tools available to create private squads. We didn't even have our own personal corps back then.

I would not call it easier but generally speaking a skilled mouse user can crush a skilled controller user thanks to huge differences in precision and input speed.

Ultimately it is better to master mouse and keyboard than a controller because the former allows much more accurate aiming and easier access to commands. Ultimately a master of both would be better off with a mouse than a controller. It makes logical sense as well. With a controller you aim with your thumb while with a mouse you use your entire hand.

Yet despite this, I still aim like an epileptic 3 year old with MKB.
Which is much worse than my typical one armed 5 year old performance.

Depending on your setup KB/M can be superior in absolutely every single way.

Mouse > Controller (accuracy, precision, reaction time) Controller > Mouse (comfort) That is all.
Ps. Old "Instant Battle" ambush was great. Few seconds later and you are in a full battle, in a small town.
