So Dust 514 always has been my favorite game until very recently when i downloaded Star Wars Battlefront from the PS Store.
This was just a fraction of the action on my first day playing.

I now have to say Star Wars Battlefront is my new favorite game.
But If Dust 2.0 ever hits the PS4 things will change on that perspective very quickly.
Anyone else tried this game yet? So much action im in love, 40 player battles.
Everything is just so damn smooth and silky. Really makes me shake my head at the PS3 sorry to say.

I dont know who they are but they must have bad internet or just have no clue how to play the game.
Its insane on the battlefield. Everything about that game is nuts, Switching from first to third person view oh man the graphics and effects are out of this world. the list goes on and on. Not a single bug or error yet so silky smooth.

Nade spams are not possible. you grenade has a charge time only alowwing you to throw 1 at a time like every 15 - 20 seconds.

It has the most content i have ever seen, like 40gig compared to what dust like 5 gig.
So many different battle modes if you get bored. 40 player battles.
Not sure why you talk so badly of the game, you really have to try.
If i dust was my favorite and this now became my favorite its for a damn good reason.
Dust 2.0 will be my only hope for savior from this game.

I'm not comparing a free game to a AAA title, that logic is a bag of hairy asses. This isn't a point for point debate, either. Battlefront has like 7 guns, 4 maps, 3 modes, so the size of the game data is irrelevant. I didn't say anything "bad" in my initial statement, I only stated the facts. It's a good looking game that plays fairly well, with hardly any content that is shrouded in the eventual "pay for what we should have already given you" EA specialty. And the grenades can be thrown every 8 seconds, coupled with the goofy grenade launcher, multiplied by the size of the teams in the bigger battles leads to being slapped with a thermite every 20 seconds or so. I have nothing against the concept of the game, it's the flawed execution of what could have been another great shooter (see Destiny for example ), that bothers me. I am at the point in gaming where I just don't let companies pimp me anymore. It's good you are enjoying your purchase, have at it.

Battlefront 2 had at least 10 maps to start, a fully fleshed campaign mode, 6 classes, space battles that continued onto the ground, you must be too young to remember but that game was way ahead of its time, especially for a star wars licensed title.

Ok you guys need to get on and play before you try and say this stuff.
That video had a guy with a 2 carry grenade, after they throw two it has to charge up for 2 more to become active to throw again.
That dude in the video tryed making it look like an issue, just like we all do here on the dust forum.
Its really not a spamming issue at all. You will only realize that after playing for at least a full day.

You seem to have some sort of cognitive bias or reading comprehension issue that is only further exhibited by the fact you keep quoting my original posts, so let me try and make this as clear as possible. I don't care about DUST, I barely even play it. I'm not comparing the 2, thats pointless to compare a mega million dollar game to a game from a small studio with a small budget. To say that Battlefront is "packed with content" is quite silly, since if you compare it to all the other games of this generation in its class it is quite lacking. Also even without the upgraded star cards, you can still toss a single grenade every 7 seconds, which combined across a whole team is still very spammy.
For my final point, I don't in any way shape or form dislike battlefront, and yes I have played it several times. It is again like I said, a good shooter, with all the right morsels from a recognized franchise that leads to some good times, but it really should have been so much more.
So before I sign off, glad you're enjoying the game, and that you found something to pull you away from DUST lol.

I will give you that battlefront is the best sounding and with some of the best graphics ive seen in a fps.
The fps/tpv part of the game I have many issue's with. That game has too much cheese in it and a preorder bonus which gave you one of the best weapons in the game at level 1 instead of the 40+ levels you would need to unlock is laughably offensive.

It is a decent game, especially at the sale price of 40 bucks. It does have its issues, but tell me a game that does not have its share of issues. There are some cheesy things that get abuse, such as douchebags with the jump pack and homing rocket combo trying to get to out of reach places and hide. Folks did that in dust too, if you remember with the dropships taking snipers to places otherwise unreachable. Folks also like to abuse the Bobba Fett character when they get it and camp. The game will drive you insane at times with the cheap ways folks on that game like to play. I swear, Battlefront has some of the cheapest and lamest players I have seen with their cheesy tactics I have seen since MW2 campers. There are ways to kill these cheap ass campers though. Get a T-21B targeting rifle and pop them in the head. |

Don't quite agree with your definition of content. Texture and sound file optimization can have a big effect on the state of bloated file sizes of AAA games these days.

All i can say is the game modes you get and the maps as well dont even compare to old games.
Sure they only have a few maps, but they are massive and packed with content. There lets says 5 or 6 maps equal to like 50 dust maps if you tried a comparison.
Game modes i am sure get taken out as games get newer due to bugs or simple lack of interest from players. That is probably why the game modes you talk about are not there, or simply they replaced them with something similar but better.

I would not lie, its fuc*** insane content. I mean the thought and details that went into one map alone is like adding 10 plus dust maps and then more.
I was truly shocked and i dont stand up for games that often but this one is worth it just like dust was for me.

That photogrammetry is particularly awesome... but as a game..it lacks seriously a lot.
A dumbed down Battlefield with little to no variety and this is actually a pety because it could have been seriously a wonderful game. Unfortunately, you'll eventually get bored in 1 week.
Still, if the same level of visuals is maintained on the next battlefield, well...

I had lots of fun in the beta.
I don't care what anyone says about it.
There's explosive spam everywhere in almost every game ,I don't see why you have to complain about it in this game just because everyone else is,and there explosive spam in dust to. And in a much more annoying manner(jump mass driver teams give spiderman cancer)
The level of details are astounding.
F*ck whatever people say. People are still playing it.
I came to dust to shoot sh!t and get money,the lore aspect I didn't bother with until later.
And if you say that battlefront is boring then you've just made the most asinine statement ever.
1. Its star wars.
2. 40player battles
3.pretty and detailed.
4.you don't have to play alone.
5. Whine whine whine,I don't have super passive skull bonuses that let me stomp newbs,wah wah I can't be op if I'm at the same level as everyone else.
6. You can run away from the heroes.(except that shifty emperor palpatine.)
Man I just feel great to be in the EMPIRE. Makes me wanna shoot up a village full of ewoks. OK... Maybe a little extreme there but screw the rebel scum.

Kinda like BioShock infinite and my friend. She hates it because it didn't take place in rapture but I like it because it felt,played really well and kept me on the edge of my damn seat waiting for the next page of the story to unfold.
Kinda like call of duty was before people just used multiplayer to judge a Cod. I love playing the campaigns...

Battlefront is a crap game. I played the beta with high hopes, and got bored after a couple hours.
There is zero depth to it. You don't even have ammo FFS....
The only thing it has going for it is that it is pretty. As far as shooters go, it is the most shallow, bland shooter I have ever played. Even more bland than PS2.
You should have waited for Overwatch. Or gotten Garden Warfare for a fraction of the price, which is superior to Battlefront in all the ways that matter. Fun.

However...
This thread allows me to accurately gauge the posters ages. Those shouting "BEST GAME EVRRRRRR!!11" are most likely 22-ish and younger. Those with angry reviews are more on the 28-ish and older spectrum.
Suck it up, handle the crap graphics (at the time they were top notch), and play battlefront 1-2. Then you will understand our complaints.
1 paid one low price and got a full game upon launch.
2 full game included a campaign, a risk style conquest mode, and custom matches available on and offline.
3 many roles and choices that increase as you play. Vehicles everywhere.
4 a boatload of maps that could still be considered medium-large.
5 balanced heroes.
6 SPACE BATTLES.. Where one could square off against a star destroyer (or SAP it from inside ala boarding party), or chase down x-wing in a TIE INTERCEPTOR..
Beauty and a one second ttk do not make up for a lack of content.

It said Battlefront has more content...lol! Its a dumb down shooter that's a pick up and play for good simple shooter fun. Comparing it to Dust? No. That's like that chick from Wayne's World always trying to make Garth jealous. No dev cares man, I know I wouldn't.
EA developed it so "an 8 year old can play with his father on a couch" and has said it has no depth.
So enjoy Battlefront but steer clear of the broken hearted girlfriend routine. Every game has its own place. Neither games take anything from each other.

I loved BF3, but honestly hated the fact that I bought premium for it. The DLC was never played, and I only used two or so guns from the extra packs.

For 2016 Im waiting for Horizon Zero Dawn, The Dying Light expansion known as The Following, and Uncharted 4.
Even bought the Witcher 3 Wild Hunt for $20 on the psn store a while ago = wow never played a rpg game in my life and its cool.
Although I slaughtered some guys and the whole town knows lol.
I hope Dust transfers by the end of 2016. Its either a win or loss situation.
Battlefront is a great game but I hatw the whole dlc crap. With aim assist off = that's how Battlefront should be played

I stopped supporting them after Madden 2002 , I use to buy anything that was tied to EA before that with the exception of the Sims games , I couldn't get into that until I got married and my wife started me playing them .
Anything tied to EA is a scam , just like Disney there a money hungry title based company that offers little once they have you hooked on the main concept .
Anyone who played the first two battlefronts know better with the content and the fact that they helped you to feel like a part of the lore and the story .

You wouldn't say that if this game wasn't riddled with the bugs and glitches it is .
No one would have anything to complain about but I guess if these same would place more emphasis on that instead of ports like that's going to help to rehash this bugs and glitch driven game on the current gen then I see why your so adamant .

And the grenades can be thrown every 8 seconds, coupled with the goofy grenade launcher, multiplied by the size of the teams in the bigger battles leads to being slapped with a thermite every 20 seconds or so. I have nothing against the concept of the game, it's the flawed execution of what could have been another great shooter (see Destiny for example ), that bothers me. I am at the point in gaming where I just don't let companies pimp me anymore. It's good you are enjoying your purchase, have at it. Im sorry to say your stats are just way off, not even close to whats in the real game. I dont want to argue you made your point, dust wins in your favor. :) But not mine.
^ From what I can count off my head, like 6-7 large maps, 9 main guns(multiple side guns), aerial combat, tank like vehicles, and 10 or so game modes, PLUS missions vs AI/NPC

The position hired was for a Communications director of some kind. The hiring notice made it sound like a marketing position that oversees marketing for several CCP games.
It didn't sound like the position would be involved in any game's development in a direct way.

Read again it clearly said she was going to be helping with SEVERAL new game launches in the early quarters of 2016.
