My ps3 is european so it doesnt support 480p.
The lowest resolution i can set my hdmi output to is 576p, my fps skyrockets but there is a major problem : the red indicator of the enemies as I'm moving goes away from their head down to their toes sometimes even in the ground so its hard to tell where is everyone cause the game doesnt look good compared to 720p.
Does anyone know any solution for this if so please.

I had the same problem in 480p. Also makes choosing an uplink to spawn in on a total crap shoot.
I don't like two-legged things.

The game is meant to be played on 720p. With 480 or 576p all the letters are uppercase and the game in general looks like crap. Stick with 720p.

480p is perfect once you get used to it, just not on an HDTV. Pull out an old CRT, it'll look fine. CRT's also have virtually zero input lag, one of the many crutches I need to lean on to be good

Lack of input lag... That makes sense. I remember being a freak in the mid 90s with street fighter alpha 2.

Y/Pb/Pr cable to Chinese knock off TV that does not have all the crazy scaling and post processing.
All the resolution with none of the hassle.

Or how about its nearly 20-f**king-16 and the fact that the game cannot even play at a terrible resolution of 720p is bad enough. We should never need to reduce resolution even further.

So I picked up this old CRT tv from the basement and I connected my ps3 on it using scart and the resolution that I can set it to is 576i, anyways I load up dust to go in a battle to see if the problem that I had with hdtv will be past but nothing.. same problem exists :/ I guess only american ps3's can reduce the resolution to 480p and have more fps.
Mess with the best... Die like the rest...

Just set the ps3 hdmi output resolution to 720p,check if your TV has a gamemode(and experiment with it) tweak with the other TV settings.
Make sure your settings in dust,the ps3,and your TV and set it to low/720p/tweaked to lower all the flowery bullsh!t processing it wants to do.
And do all the other fixes that have suggested.
*delete all mail and useless contacts
*lower chat channels
*SSD
*wired ethernet
*wired controller
*the graphics detail option and texture whatnot is set to low

I keep my ps3 in 480p Because the letters are too small in 720p, n 1080p.
Kirby's air ride on gamecube looks so damn good on this 50 inch... But put dust in 720... I'll need glasses.

Yes, cause NTSC. PAL simply can't go to 480.
Bring a PAL tv here and use NTSC device. Screwed up.

that's not very good, but you can't expect good if you don't buy the best

input lag (high-speed camera)8ms compared to lag-free CRT in [Game] mode
Leo Bodnar input lag tester22ms in [Game] mode

Yeah I have all my settings tweaked lol... ovbiously but I just wanted to see if ti was possible to get better fps by simpl redusing the resolution no problem though because I just installed my SSD to my system :D samsung SSD 850 EVO 240GB pretty good choice and a fair price. I'm waiting for dust to download now and will be ready to test results and provide info first hand

Dust will never go over 30fps.CCP made sure of that.

If you have a SSD, you can play in 720p without problems in general. Just maybe need to reset after 2 or 3 hours of gaming, but for this time I think it's a good compromise.
I tried to play on 576p, and for sure you have the advantage in 1vs1 (best framerate, and reds people are bigger on the screen, so more easy to aim), but the the general vision of the match (scan, uplink, reds, vehicles, scouts...) is very bad compared to the 720p. So I think stay in 720p bro'.
