Very good suggestion, but likely needs some polish.
Is it possible to farm this mechanic for LP? As per your proposal all you need to do is queue for an LP match of an unpopular faction in the off hours and repeatedly wait for the scotty-message to receive 1k LP every 10 minutes. Back when being afk in the MCC earned rewards we learned that people are very willing to spend their time like that, even if it's just for minor rewards.
On the one hand, the more people queue just to get the timeout reward, the more battles will start and thus the reward for waiting will be payed less often, on the other hand those that are queuing for the timeout-reward will likely leave the match as soon as it starts, which will decrease the quality of the matches that do start. |

You're right, it would fill up FW matches quicker, but people might leave them.
We should find a balance where it would be worth queueing (did i get that word right?) for the battles and getting the error message, but not worth leaving the match!
I say around 250 LP would be good. It's less than when you lose, but still worth waiting 10 minutes for doing nothing.
Although... what if you queue up for more than one faction? would you receive it randomly from any one faction or would it be evenly split to the number of factions selected?
BTW I fully support this idea and hope it gets implemented.

A different twist: At the end of match screen you receive bonus LP proportional to the amount of waiting you endured before the match.
Each time you queue for a FW match - successfully or not - your waiting time is saved. E.g. you queue twice for a total waiting time of 17 minutes before deploying. If you finish the match and reach the end of match screen you will be dealt an additional LP bonus of 17 minutes * X [LP/minute]. It would be important that the end of match screen actually showed this bonus LP as a separate source of LP.
That way you only get bonus LP from waiting if you actually stick through the match. |

You have no idea how long I've wanted something like this.
It sucks when youre waiting 20 mins just to find a match then you finally find one and its halfway over. Then you just retire for the night because it was boring.
It's not all bad, the people I play with are always nice to talk to but damn, we definitely need something for waiting our ass off.
