Just a random idea that came to my head. There has been lots of discussion on how to Get rid of PROTO gear in Pubs. I personally dislike the idea of doing that.
So an idea came to my head that the team you are on has a nanite pool. This is a resource pool that allows you to spawn in suits, tanks , modules and so forth. Proto gear could take more nanite resources per spawn then a basic gear to help cover the balance of the game.
So in the end if your have a full team of proto vrs a team of non proto 1 kill on proto could count as 5 basic kills. Even if you losing badly KD wise your still gonna be able to win if you play it smart.
This could also help the entry level into PC battles. there won't be a constant need for proto gear as may just eat up your spawn resources and lose the battle. It may be better to bring in basic suits into PC unless you know you can protect it.
In the end players are gonna have to be smart about how they use there resources rather then bringing out the best gear.
Example numbers (devs would probably have better numbers for this)
PROTO LOGI fully fitted = 375 nanites
basic logi fully fitted = 50 nanites
A tank could take = 750 nanites
A Team could have 20,000 nanites.
Im sure this base system could expand more then what i have said and add a great meta to the game.

But then there'll be them jerks who think "me me me" and use up resources.
Meh, i love your idea. +1

Hmm well what you could do is have a personal pool that gets say 100 nanites every minute or something around that to prevent the "me me me!!!!" spam of suits and screw the team over but this is the harsh way of doing it.
Another Idea is the less nanites you use in a battle the more isk you get in a battle. if you use 1 suit for entire match then maybe you make million isk. I personally like this option more. Just need to make it apparent that this is a thing and show your average nanite use. This would help out new bros if all they used was mitia there Isk income would be better.

I like some of the ideas here, but some of this is starting to encourage afk behavior and discouraging people from running suits they've worked to unlock.
I would like to work toward a risk vs. reward mechanic for this. e.g. Running high meta suits acts as a modifier for payout.
( [average suit meta (during match)] x [objective defense WP x 0.8] ) x (personal nanites used/enemy nanites destroyed by you)

Meta = nanite cost?
Increase/decrease metas accordingly? Like meta really doesn't have any........ "value" at the moment.. Might as well?
+1 Jadek. Isk equation should also include nanites used (sell leftovers) and destroyed enemy nanites. Similar to PC, should be easy to add IMHO.

kinda but not the way i want to do it. they have static values for vehicles and equipment. Also infantry is free in ps2. in dust this will be different because cost will be based on meta LV (or something) and everything will have a cost. Sending out mitia squads to assassinate 1 target at a time maybe a viable strategy if said target is proto.

Thing is its not static at all. Its given a modifier dependant on how many continents your faction owns.
And this idea really won't fly to well. Milita squads vs one proto target. A squad right now is six. A fireteam is 4. And depending on what proto suit and weapons combo the proto guy has,you could have a whole platoon go after him and he could probably still take out more than half of them. Heck even milita weaponry is deadlier to milita suits. I ran a academy match on my new alt a long time ago. I went nearly 60 kills in with only a milita assault rifle strapped to a caldari front line (ignore my hornblowing)
Meta level is just another pointless stat. Why would you make it so that it complety changes gameplay possibly for the worse? Because let me remind you that due to the sentinels and commandos naturally low meta level you could easily have multiple adv level (posibly a good four or five)sentinel/commandos and yet the other side is stuck with 16 guys in mlt/std.

Raise meta accordingly. Hell my ads shouldn't have a meta level of like 25.
But he's using mlt as an example. Running proto taxes the nanites. Run it till you might not even be able to run suits anymore. Saying it might benefit the ones who use mlt first because in the end, they'll have the nanites to support higher meta fits than their opponents.
Adds another level of strategy... Especially if this is used in PC.

This will turn into a race to see who can log in faster then the next guy, we just need Metalocks for everything meta4 and above for pubs then we wouldnt need to have guys that can't finger out %5 don't = 1 PG try and do more math they will never get!

Thing is this still won't work. Pubs is where you can run anything as long as you can afford it. Though officer and experimental are the bigger problem here. Ccps huge blunder with allowing the experimental lab to spit out officer damaged the match quality. Too many people had officer and many abused the trading system via generating it with alts or just directly scamming people, and some didn't even need to scam or generate. They just bought it via the billions of isk from either exploiting the old PC mechanics or have played long enough to amass a fortune.
Once CCP removed the officer generation from lab the qq against officer in pubs settled down but the proto qq threads started up. Even if ccp removed proto from pubs people would then complain about adv or this or that. And lest you forget if they remove proto from pubs then every play style that requires having proto modules or equipment is instantly destroyed(rep tools, kincats, ferroscales, nanite injectors to name a few) as the adv versions don't provide enough of a benfit forcing people to just stack armor and play like cod, also depleting dust of any of the actual gungame we still have.
I can agree with the nanite pool idea mostly as long as its used on a rework of vehicles, which they desperately need.
With pubs its just let's hope that they actually run just proto and not officer or experimental.since proto is only 5% than adv and having a few more bits of HP from max skills in x skills won't help seeing as the warbarge also provides the augmented ammo feature.
All I can say is dust needs a clean slate. Port it now.

Well i never said I wanted to use meta level but at the same time it could be meta level multiplied by the size of the suit. So adv scout would cost less then a basic heavy in nanites.

Well i was over exaggerating with that statement. The idea was to make it so the many weak people could take on a proto. But many could be 2-3 suits.
But the biggest point of this system is to make it so a A skilled player in basic or advanced taking out 1 proto before he dies is a very big deal while A Proto taking out 2 or even 3 basics before he dies won't even make it worth it in the game. Maybe if he was defending a objective or helping to take out some swarm launchers about to kill a tank.
I do have to disagree with your statements that this would make the game worse for 2 reasons.
1. This is not exactly what it may be. Numbers can change or how it works may vary as people keep talking in this post. As i do like constructive ideas and criticism.
2 have having a shared pool of resources that losing a proto to say a basic suit sniper will be big deal. For this reason this system will add lot of mechanics and strategy that focus on diminishing the enemy resources or capturing the objective with the resource limit they have.
And this is not something I thought of until now this will give snipers an even more important role to focus down proto users to get rid of there resources faster. This is an example of the new strategies that could be added from this simple system.

Random thought came to mind you could base the score on a kill off the Nanite cost of the suit or tank. Lead to a more rewarding system.
